HDR is broken (PS4 Pro)
HDR seemed fine previously (so long as the dark setting was left in the centre) but it is now broken. Easy to see in the corridors of Bray Exoscience on Europa where shadows appear red due to the HDR fault. Please fix ASAP as having to turn it off is a real shame as the game really benefits from it.

Same. It’s definitely not working as intended. It looks terrible on series x and ps5. Please address this.definitely destiny as Cold War and other games look great.

Head over to the Dead orbit area in the tower, the lighting in the shelving is a perfect example outside nessus... washing in and out including blue hues

Can confirm on PS4 Slim. This happens on Nessus and very rare areas on other Destinations but Nessus is the most affected one.

Please do something... looks completely washed out in Xbox one x. All other games look amazing benefits from Xbox hdr game calibration tool but beyond light just looks bad. If you try and fix with the in game hdr slider... forget it blacks are completely crushed and the whole thing is just ridiculous...what did I pay for??

The red hue on the floors and walls seem to get worse. Cave areas a few times have got so dark that I have to stop for it to clear up a little to be able to proceed. As of November 24th I can no longer play the game. Going to try one last thing to see if it will help. If not I’ll not be back till it’s fixed because I’ve started having headaches from it.

HDR has been broken for many of us since Forsaken on Xbox. It's really frustrating and the game is so dark in some areas that its unplayable on Xbox One X or Series X. Even with some workarounds it still looks odd and off. At least on PS4 there is a HDR toggle in the game. On Xbox that toggle doesn't exist so we are forced to turn HDR off for our entire console to have it be playable. Please I beg you look hard at HDR on Xbox.

I'm having same issue on Xbox Series X. I wish Bungie would acknowledge the problem with HDR and communicate they were working on a fix.

For me Europa appears somewhat OK in HDR. But Nessus is terrible: dark areas have blue/gray sheen on them.

Yup, it's basically now worse then when it was broken before. If you die in the corrupted strike everything goes red and Nessus looks completely awful.

Same here on Xbox one x with Samsung QLED 9. I never have such bad saturation of RGBs as well as the “negative” effect on shadows. Plain horrible. It seems particularly strong in legacy strikes. This is really bad. The Noghtfall on Nessus was nearly impossible to navigate. Urgent issue IMO.

Disrupting the experience Edit: would just like to add that Nessus is an absolute abomination while this issue exists. I have to leave any crucible/gambit game with a Nessus map, it actually hurts my eyes lol Hope it gets a fix

Ah, and I thought it was just me as well. Dark areas now appear as almost a "negative" or a kind of crazy awful 80s music video washed out pastel effect I'm on PS4 Pro by the way, so looks like it's the game not the console

HDR imo in this game has always made it look worse, ether way too dark or bright. Can disable hdr in the Xbox setting if using that and I’m sure you can on ps.

Having the same issues here. PS4 Pro. Was fine prior to Beyond Light. Becomes a big issue in certain PVP maps and all the Gambit maps. It’s a real shame because Europa looks great. Any idea of when an update will be forthcoming?

I'm also seeing graphical issues on PC while in 1080p with HDR disabled (or so it says in settings). Most colors look like shit and are either too bright, too dark, or too much red and blue everywhere. I also logged into Xbox and the 4k/HDR looked like shit there too. Hopefully they fix this soon because the game is a -blam!-ing eye sore right now...

2 Repliesi had a feeling that something like this might happen - as soon as they mentioned altering the lighting on edz and nessus i worried about the implementation to hdr - it's a shame because the game looked great before the dlc - but now looks pretty bad, especially on nessus and edz - hopefully it isn't too hard of a fix because it's counter productive to break something like this especially with more and more people going to be using hdr with the new consoles on the way if the december 8th optimisation patch is all shiny and nice then i'll be happy :)

Same on Xbox Series X and One X!! Everything worked just fine before the update, the HDR just add this weird effect to dark areas. Essentially, every dark spot in the game has a negative like effect, with a high contrast grey inversion. As I said, I tried HDR on both consoles and different screens but the issue is still there. SDR looks just fine but that's not the solution I want for a HDR game.
