For the past few days, Destiny 2 has started crashing with the error message telling me to verify the game's files, this always occurs as soon as the character select screen pops up. I've tried verifying the game files with Steam, deleting the .pkg file that caused the crash and verifying, changing the language back and forth, running the game in admin mode, increasing its priority in the task manager, checking for steamappid.txt, deleting CVARS.xml, and completely reinstalling the game, but nothing has worked so far.
The latest crash_info,
resourcerer:load: Failed to load tag with path '<N/A>' and description '<N/A>' 0x80B74524 (0x01ba 1316) from package {{w64_investment_01ba_3.pkg}} with error 'error bad handle, {{!0x00000006!}}' install type {{!5!}}
I've been playing with low settings on this laptop,
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 19041) (19041.vb_release.191206-1406)
System Model: Inspiron 5559
BIOS: 1.4.1 (type: UEFI)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8084MB RAM
This is my first time reaching out for help so I apologize if I didn't give enough information

did you get it to work?
-
You need a dedicated gpu to play
-
that laptop has integrated graphics which is way below minimum specs to play the game.

7 RepliesHey there! I want you to try these steps:
1. In the Steam Games library, right click Destiny 2 and go to Properties. 2. Click Local Files then Browse Local Files to open your Destiny 2 directory. 3. Remove all files in this folder EXCEPT "Packages." 4. Then verify the integrity of Destiny 2 game files.
Some have also reported that swapping to a different language and swapping back helps. Also, make sure your antivirus software isn’t blocking the Destiny 2 from launching. Add the “Destiny2.exe” application to whitelist on your Antivirus / Windows Security. You can find steam_appid.txt and delete that file by going through the following below:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Destiny 2, but could also be in the \Destiny 2\bin\x64 folder.
Another solution for you to use is to clear your steam download cache. You can do this by going to Steam > Settings > Downloads tab > Clear Download Cache. If that does not work, the destiny2.exe process is hidden in task manager. Can you try this solution?
1. Force close it using CMD 2. Command prompt “Run as administrator” 3. Type “taskkill /IM destiny2.exe” without the quotes
7 RepliesA day later and I still haven't had any luck with this issue, I've done just about everything I can think of and the lack of any response coupled with other posts that have a similar problem with also no response makes me feel as if me and everyone else with this issue is just SoL. I would really appreciate any suggestions anyone might have.
