No part of the decision to ban your account was related to any macro software. Automating trivial tasks (especially for accessibility reasons) is allowed. Players will only punished for automation when it circumvents challenges all players face during gameplay (auto-aim, trigger-bot, etc)
Can we get a deeper explanation on what exactly this means?
Can we for example, use macros to buy things from Vendor? Can we use macros to go e.g to Spider and buy materials? Can we use macros to do complicated in-game movements/mechanics?
Can we use macros to jump/sprint/do other trivial tasks?
Where does this stop and goes into the area where it could cause bans?

Its been 3 years and this still has not been clearly answered. There are still mixed ideas on whether people think things like movement tech macros are allowed or not. But the crazy thing is, rather than people each feeling unsure about whether its allowed or not, we have many people who (for whatever reason) are super confident in their answers which all differ from one another. Bungie needs to come out and clearly address this. It was never a question whether auto-aim/aim-bot macros were allowed. Obviously they weren't, but what about all the other macros. Where is the line SPECIFICALLY. Personally, I find shatter and warlock skating pretty simple, but I struggle with bubble skating and would be willing to set-up a macro for it if I knew it was allowed. But going further than that, I have no problem with other people running Warlock or Hunter skate macros. If anything, I find it annoying when someone struggles to keep up because they flubbed a skate input. Keep in mind that vender purchase macros and skate macros hurt LITTERALLY NOBODY, it just speeds up task completion. And now that I think about it, having a strand rocket grapple movement tech macro would be pretty useful, too. Its hard as **** to nail the timing on grappling to a rocket unless you're firing straight up.

it means if you use it to have aim bot, trigger bot, or anything that gives you an unfair advantage is not allowed, but things like titan skating, warlock skating(I doubt you need macros for that). If the macro cuts corners around things such as aiming then you get the swift ban

I know a lot of people that use titan skating macros in comp and as far as I know no one I know has been banned

These could include Trainers, Aimbots, Auto-fire, Mods, Graphics Hacks, Network Accelerators anything that injects code into games. This includes any cheats etc that you use for other games
A macro (which stands for "macroinstruction") is a programmable pattern which translates a certain sequence of input into a preset sequence of output. Macros can be used to make tasks less repetitive by representing a complicated sequence of keystrokes, mouse movements, commands, or other types of input

Macros to assist people with disabilities are fine. Macros to keep you from being AFK kicked from Crucible, Strikes, Forge, Gambit etc are not allowed.

Edited by Kiro - 13: 2/25/2020 2:54:08 PMI have heard that doing a macro to skate is not allowed and could get you banned. could be wrong.
