The one super in the game you can hit R2, miss your target and still get 3 kills on people around 2 corners, 6 streets down the road whom you didn't even know we're there, then kill your target on your second R2 because they can't kill you fast enough, nor can they run away because of the tracking, distance and height the vortex can hit you at.
I love this super but good God is it the most busted super in Destiny 2 by a long shot. You can't even fall off something to dodge it because it's vortex has a hitbox not only 10 meters into the air but also a few meters below it. Who made these changes?

8 RepliesI think it's one of the easier mobile supers to counter if you have distance between you and them for a couple of reasons. The first would be that the projectile, unlike most projectiles, has a max distance it can travel. I've been just barely far enough away from a burning maul that the explosion went off in front of me but not because I activated it, so on specific maps burning maul can seriously be avoided just by back pedaling. Second reason would be that the power attack is the only real way it can kill players in crucible. The light attack is incredibly slow movement wise and unlike most melee attacks it's a multi hit that suffers tremendously with any latency. Hunters can literally jump out of it while being damaged. The third reason is, is that its actual dog shit at fighting aerial targets. Yes the vertical hitbox on the slam is bigger than it was before but jumping can still easily avoid it. The projectile itself can only traverse on the ground, making uneven surfaces with levels like on endless vale annoying. It's just one of those things that with the right circumstances can make it stupid powerful, which is the whole point to the super. But in terms of actual usage in pvp, sentinel and bottom tree striker are still better options because they are faster and have more tools to work with.

Edited by XxSkull FistxX: 2/28/2020 2:08:51 AM😂😂😂 dude, come on. I run that class and I’m constantly getting killed across the map by hunter throwing knives, warlock hand held super nova. Warlocks can hover like 50 feet in the air while throwing fire at you. I get my super shut down fairly consistently by hunters running blade barrage. I’d say as far as supers are concerned this is the most balanced I’ve seen each class maybe ever.

And after your super, your mini hammer one shots 😁

I'll just leave this here https://youtu.be/2Zl_g-lqAgE

3 RepliesI got killed by it whilst playing GTA....

Is this the next super we are all supposed to support nerfing for?! Im so excited! We havent done this in awhile!

1 ReplyI agree its ridiculous to die around corner from it after they missed
-
I just love the slam it when facing a wall, and get a triple down on the other end of the wall. It’s fn hilarious

1 ReplyIm a Titan main/only and It’s wildly inconsistent. Ground pound gets stuck on the weirdest things and can miss a dude 5 feet in front of you. It’s slow as cold molasses too. I will also say in was very satisfying to get 5 or 6 kills during a hunt near the end of an iron banner match that caught us up from 20 down to within striking distance score wise. We ended up winning that match last second after a huge comeback and it was a bunch of randoms against a five stack of clan guys who had been controlling the match for the most part. One thing I wish for is a titan super that could be somewhat useful for boss dps. Seems like titans have always just had crowd control supers minus bubble which is pure support.

Burning Maul really highlights the issue with Bungie's philosophy in balancing PvP. It was under-performing, and was in dire need of a buff. It's a roaming super, but is very slow. The very nature of that just doesn't make sense. But rather than re-working the super so that it would compete with other supers and reward skillful use, they jacked up the ease of us to 100. It's now a super that GETS KILLS FOR YOU.

It burns me up.

I'm just gonna go ahead and assume that the people who downvote this think burning maul is balanced or are just titan mains who think they've not had any good supers for eons despite the opposite being completely obvious the entire time. Burning maul is dumb. Compare it to any other super in the game, inconsistencies of all supers aside because yes, contrary to titan main beliefs, Titans aren't the only class to have inconsistencies. Now, what other roaming super has a ranged attack with tracking and height that prevents every class from escaping it 9 times out of 10? Dawnblade? No, bottom tree has tracking but nowhere near on the scale that the maul does and nobody uses bottom tree now due to the mobility nerf. Top tree has no tracking and well is easy to avoid or get rid of. Nova bomb is a shutdown super and isn't a roaming super. Nova Warp is on the lower end of super viability. Stormtrance has no tracking and has no ranged attacks. Chaos reach is also not used and again, has no tracking. Golden gun is a glass canon which can cross map but has no armor or tracking. Blade barrage has tracking but isn't roaming. Tether is a shutdown super on both trees, bottom tree is barely roaming if you really want to stretch that far. Arcstriders has no tracking or ranged attacks either. Sentinel has shield throws with tracking and the ability to miss initial throw, bounce off at least 2 walls and get multiple kills. The bubble requires a super to destroy and gives weapons of light and blessing of light with an exotic. Fist of Havoc is a panic button combined with a roaming super. Thundercrash is a controllable shutdown super. Hammers are both ranged, one splits hammers and the other can last longer while standing in sunspots created by the super, neither top tree nor bottom tree have tracking. Burning maul has a very sharp turning radius, tracks enemies you don't have line of sight on, has vortex's that reach far enough into the air to prevent almost any class from escape most of the time unless you are prepared/lucky and the slam itself can kill enemies around the user even behind from about 5 meters away. You can't say that's not alot for one super and not be completely biased.

1 ReplySuper is balanced. Good in some instances but easily dodged as well
-
8 RepliesEh I couldn't kill a hunter crouching literally right next to me - if anything it needs smarter tracking
-
1 ReplyNext fun thing to be nerfed...
-
Totally agree, this is so cheap right now.
-
I said that before. When they announced the height increase. I was like, "they going to slow it down, decrease tracking or decrease radius to balance that?" Yea nope they just made it OP as hell.

Edited by an Ape with a d2 addiction: 2/24/2020 1:50:20 PMIf you tune the tracking down, change the super so that you can freely change you facing direction when you're mid-air locked into the slam animation. Currently you practically can't aim the slams at all. The tracking is all it's got. Turning 180 degress and running away also counters the whole super pretty hard. The projectile will catch you when you're inside it's 30-ish? meter range but after you're beyond that? Keep running and you're safe. He can't catch you by running after you. The slow slam animations and no light melee gliding causes that. Also if I have a sniper and see the titan dunk slamming the ground, I see a free headshot. I'll die to the projectile if I'm in range but it'll be a trade at least. Which is a really high risk factor for a super using a single hit of it's realistically only attack. The explosions getting you behind walls is really funky though. The radius is fine as is but they could really fix that. I've seen aa guy behind Widow's court A point wall get blown up by the explosion on the other side. Sometimes it just ignores obstacles, cover and space-time.
-
5 RepliesWhile it does give you some ridiculous kills at times, I've also seen the tracking miss targets right in front of me more times i can count when there are no obstacles between me and the target i could've hit.... Just like most inconsistencies in this game, its most likely just another lag issue. You also have to consider that before the buff the super was extremely easy to avoid, and the neutral game on that class isn't exactly strong either, and hardly anyone used the class because of it.

11 RepliesThe titan super cycle in destiny. -Starts off as the worst super / subclass -Gets a much needed buff -Becomes a solid / viable option in PvP/ PvE -Random people complain that it’s the most OP thing ever because they got killed by it a few times -Bungie nerfs it into the ground a few months later
I swear we can never have nice things :(
-
2 RepliesThe super is fine. You can get flame sword or golden gun from much longer distances. There is not going to be a thundercrash meta for titans so best leave this particular nerf whine alone.
-
4 RepliesDude, I was in comp , last round , 2v3 final round 3 rounds won each. Capture the zone pops up!! I tether the zone and stay on the pile of rocks on the truck side, whilst my friend took the burning maul away, he got killed by it, he came back for me from heavy side, pressed RT, the fire went past my tether around the corner to the rocks killed me from more than 15m behind cover no fücks given. Sick.
