I'm a clan leader and I sherpa endgame content aimed at teaching and guiding players on a daily basis. I mostly teach raids, dungeons, and jump puzzles. You know, the usual stuff rookies struggle with. I always do my best to remain patient and allow people time to gain understanding of the mechanics and the arenas. So, I'm used to multiple wipes due to inexperience or lack of understanding. No biggie.
But please, use a special weapon!
If you enjoy being ineffective and wasting time, by all means, go ahead and use whatyou like... double primary weapons. I have seen way too many players load into a boss encounter with a scout, and an auto... or a pulse and a scout, or a sidearm and a pulse.
I'm not saying these aren't usable loadouts. I'm just saying that there are things that are 1000% more effective and they sure do die a lot.
What are your experiences like correcting the loadouts of others? How has being corrected affected your gaming experience?

25 RepliesEdited by VaporDoggo: 10/21/2020 3:55:24 PMIn my first GoS run i threw on a random shotgun since I was told to have a special weapon on, didn't use it once and was completely fine throughout the raid

I agree is some raids that a secondary is necessary BUT. Not everything requires one. I have done the pit with people with the exact same opinion as you and I use... Primary: Scout, handcannon, pulse, sniper and auto. Secondary: Sidearm, sniper, fusion and a pulse. I've done some raids fully with 2 primary weapons and they can be really effective HOWEVER. If someone asks me to swap so I can do a specific job I will. Snipe vandals, snipe for better dps, fusion to kill ads, pulse for taking shields ect. Its not necessary to have a special. Its just nice to have more oomph in your damage phases. If anything I have these suggestions for you. 1. Depending on the activities, see how they do and how they play to better gauge their skills and how you can help them better. 2. Ask them to switch, don't demand it. Remember in some activities its not necessary but it would be nicer so just ask nicely, I've seen to many people demand I swap to a special because I'm not doing well. ( funny enough a large portion of the time the other player/players will point out I'm doing what I was asked and doing it well.) 3. Recommend they farm for a certain weapon they are would benefit from. Up close and personal kind of guy? Get a crutch gun... Sorry shotgun. You can get a perfect paradox with trench now so I can't recommend it enough. Stay at the back and be safe? Sniper. Again you can easily farm a sniper. A mix of the two? Get a fusion. But as much as these will help you out. There will always be people who won't listen and will definitely not be of any help.
now if you'll excuse me I'll be using my Randy's and devil's ruin combo in endgame activities effectively for a while.
19 RepliesPersonally; I will run double primary on my Titan, but only auto rifles. During the damage phase of most boss I'll use my super and heavy and when it's not I'll clear adds. Using dual autos and Actium war rig I can use my val or misfit to pop majors and my steel feather to pop the adds... if I'm running Hunter or Warlock I'll DPS the hell out of the boss and set up control point. The main reason why some people use double primary is because thier secondary weapons are HOT TRASH. My best sniper is a Trophy Hunter with Vorpal Weapon... I have a few more that are okay but for PvE they are not as good. Also, I don't even bother remembering the other trait because it's garbage. My best fusion is idk because 99% of mine have garbage rolls, same with shotguns... RNG has me -blam!-ed up. I've been trying to farm Gallant Charge but all of my rolls have been useless... I think my Main Ingredient has a better roll than most of the Gallant Charges I've got. 😢 So sorry if I am one of those players that erk you, some of us just knows when we have gold, and when we have a pile of hot excrement.

2 Replies*laughs in double primary solo flawless pit run* Ok it’s nowhere near as hard as raids, so my statement was kinda pointless. How hard will izanagi’s get hit in the raid side of things?

If you are taking your time to teach me in any activity I see no reason to feel bad in correcting my load out. Since you have more experience and have done many times.

7 RepliesLet people play the way they want please. But. If you are sherpaing. They should play as you recommend as you are doing the gracious thing and helping fellow guardians. But barring that lets stop as a community telling people how to play, when they can play crucible with friends and what to use.

2 RepliesI mostly agree as well. I usually don't have an issue with anyone when it comes to what guns they use. Now if for whatever reason you are constantly dying or can't complete a task because you decided to tickle the Minotaur with your scout rifle insta of blowing his guns out with a shotgun, then you may get a talking to. Your Randy and Recluse combo may work in PvP, but that ultra major Minotaur isn't a Bouncing Titan with OEM. We were doing Garden and this dude straight up had 2 vanilla pulse rifles as his kinetic and energy and just wouldn't change them for anything despite getting laid out while collecting motes multiple times. I know a few people who have extremely powerful rolls on that sidearm Breachlight and that thing destroys just about everything, even most majors and even puts up good boss damage. The people I hate the most are the ones who won't accept any advice and just act like it's your fault and start throwing fits because we have to keep wiping an encounter.

1 ReplyI am simultaneously: - losing hope in humanity - not surprised - laughing my ass off I can't believe how many people are trying to argue with you. Sure, maybe there are a few acceptable niche situations, but mostly you are less effective and hurting your team.

Edited by livefromphx: 2/22/2020 8:39:12 PMHonestly you shouldn't worry about other people's load outs unless they are either constantly dying or doing terrible dps. Some people can survive or put out good dps with weapons you cant. If your wiping because of them, then it's an issue.

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
I’ve hardly done any raids in D2, and haven’t tried the Pit. If someone with experience of completing them was offering to help me get them done then one of the first things I would ask would be loadout suggestions. -

7 RepliesEver consider the idea that maybe they don't have a special weapon? I ran a Scourge with someone who flat out didn't like snipers or long range weapons and we completed it without a problem. If people are good with what they have then let them use it, all you really need for dps is heavy.

5 RepliesWow, You let just anybody in that clan, huh.

3 RepliesHow about you pay for my game and then I'll play how you want me to? In the meantime, keep making pretentious, self serving and self righteous posts. Carry on.

8 RepliesEdited by Ari: 2/22/2020 1:39:19 AMIt's one of the most rookie mistakes there is, everything in the game is designed to work with you having one of each weapon type, not 2 greens, not 2 whites, one of each, period. Everyone that doesn't comply to this is either handicapping themselves, don't get the way the game works, or both.

Lol carry on
