Why are there no hive in the EDZ?
Since there were hive hidden in the Cosmodrone of Old Russia back in Destiny 1 why are there no hive in the EDZ? Is it because we killed Crota and Omniugul? (Sorry if I mistyped that name)

the hive seeders were largely localized in russia, and with hive being hive, we know they've got a preference for cold places and they dont like to migrate. so, they'd hunker down over there, and without much of a reason to move west, they'd stay there til we came in and destroyed everything they ever knew by killing half of their monarchy/pantheon as well as torching their homes. sometimes literally.

Because it’s a game and the hive were heavily featured in destiny 1 and are about to be heavily featured soon again when savathun comes to get us, so during base destiny 2 they took a little break

They hang around portals to the ascendant realm and there probably aren’t many there. I’d think they’d want to be close to the shard and succ all the light out

They were probably wiped out on earth tbh, between the cabal attack, the raids of d1, and the fallen presence. They probably won’t be back after the way we handed their collective asses to them last time.

9 RepliesPotentially? They definitely weakened after rise of iron due to a lack of leadership There's probably still Hive on earth in general, but the EDZ isn't as special as old Russia (because warminds and shit)

1 ReplyIts been some time since I looked into this but I believe that their only foothold on Earth was at the Cosmodrome. Once Crota fell that particular brood never expanded due to lack of solid leadership. With everything that has happened since vanilla D1 there hasn't been a single Hive leader that has targeted Earth. No doubt Oryx would have but he never got the chance.
