Bungie made $300 million in micro transactions

That’s why the game is shallow as shyt. Cause they learned that putting all the loot in the eververse and phucking over the community is fine because the very loud dumb portion of the community will defend them. I’m not against micro transactions. I’m against this we are poor please help us act while pocketing 300 mill and releasing a shyt game. Y1 was 100% wasted due to horrible content ideas and execution uction. When they actually had to do work y2 was very good. But this year has been shyt and will continue to be shyt. Reward the people who constantly pay for this crap with better content.

  • Maybe apply some simple math to that number. How many different people have every played Destiny? How about 10 million just to throw out a number. 300 million in micro transactions would mean each of those 10 million players would have had to spend $30 each on micro transactions. How likely is that? I have never spent a dime. I expect many others haven't either. Is that number 50%? That would mean 5 million people would have had to spend $60. Less likely. It's hard to speculate but I don't see $300 million as being an accurate number.

Not a big number there really. 500k copies at $60 is $300 mill. 500k copies isnt that good of a sles number. In micors its about billions, not millions. They scrapping by bro.

      • Are you sure it’s not 350 million? If you’re gonna use a random fake number it has to be 350million and you gotta put it on the side of s bus

        • Numbers do not stack up when you consider the number of players. Please provide link which shows how the number was built up.

        • So back this info up with facts. First where did 300 mill number come from? Not saying I don’t believe you but a link/referancw would be nice. Next, what is there company’s operating expenses. You know, rent for building, labor costs, taxes etc. Now, how does that figure measure into their net income after paying out all those things. Go.

        • Lots of zombified brain dead consumers out there. Who the -blam!- in their right mind would spend money on cosmetics for a game they won't even be playing a few years from now. I swear the age of the smart phone and mobile games has really ruined the gaming industry and rotted the average gamers mind. It's really sad.

Wait. It is really true? How many players play Destiny?? Say there are 10 million players that's 30 dollars per player spent on Eververse items. There aren't 10 million players? AND there are players like me and my friends that NEVER spend real money in Eververse. So are you telling me there are players spending hundreds if not thousands on Eververse? I find it hard to believe.

          • Is this number taking into account that players have to buy Silver and purchase the Season Pass through Eververse? That alone could be inflating the amount by no small number.

              • Lol loot in destiny is cosmetics. Meanwhile loot in borderlands are guns guns guns. Plus artifacts and grenades and shield and legendaries etc. Cosmetics are an after thought and i find it humorous when eververse stuff is considered "all the loot" when it doesnt do anything special

                • You know what that proves and I mean this in the nicest possible way, eververse is not going anywhere and a hell of a lot of people use it, contrary to popular belief. The way bungie uses it is the issue.

                • From a business standpoint...300mil isn't alot. But at the same time, it should be enough for them to hire more staff to get this game back in order

                  • You do realize that it's not cheap creating AAA games and maintaining them, right? Having to pay highly trained employees for their work. Paying operating costs because electricity, water, and gas aren't cheap, advertising costs because you want as many potential customers as possible. Ya know, grown-up things.

                    • It’s not like they put $300m in a bag and went to Vegas. Jesus. People need to stop making clickbait like this. Bungie has operating costs, and they don’t have a publisher giving them money every month. They have to make money somehow. It’s fine to let them know how you feel about how they release content but don’t exaggerate unnecessarily.
