Why were factions even removed?
Does bungie plan on bringing back dead orbit and the other factions?

The loot pool in Destiny 2 has never been deep enough to support the role factions played in Destiny 1. People hated Faction Rally. Bungie wants Clans....not Factions....to be the game's unit of social organization. So there really is just no role for Factions in the game right now.

Why have three extra vendors when Bungie isn’t making enough content for the ones we have already. Because it sure as hell isn’t the deep philosophical and political dimensions they brought to Destiny’s gameplay. Read about them in the lore. That’s about as interesting as they ever got.

They were removed because it was another thing Activision broke. They’re working on it. Factions will be back. Same as Trials

They were removed because of the lacklustre format bungie implemented in D2... players found it far more rewarding to farm lost sectors than the mindless boring repetitive tasks bungie wanted them to do.
