What's been one of the most reoccurring questions that random's ask in the lore forum? Can Guardians have kids
It's a T rated game so no duh we aren't getting any talk about it unless it's super hidden like Shaxx and Mara's night out. So whenever it comes time for the writers to introduce a couple in the lore it's always the same two genders to avoid discussing about sex/children.
You then maybe asking: what about Devrim and Hawthorne and that one Ishtar scientist who's name I can never spell? Again, T rated game so no talking about the "animal noises behind closed doors time"
I'd actually like to see a straight relationship in Destiny, not because "darn lgbt is taking over the game maaan" but instead I would like to explore the story of a kid raised by Guardians, imagine that

I purchased every DLC there is for Destiny 2, and I played through them all. I started as F2P but stayed because of the enjoyable gameplay and rich story. But after Final Shape I don't think I will be getting any more DLC. The campaign was great - [i]one of the best[/i] even, but the "Episode: Echoes" was utter garbage in all my honesty. They are ruining the game experience on the name of DEI. I had deep respect for Saint-14 and the sacrifice he made. Him and Osiris were good friends, but they just had to ruin a good friendship by making them -blam!-. [b]I am not antagonizing DEI[/b], but this particular thing is uncalled for, and without any proper reason. This is [b]forceful[/b] inclusion and is actually [b]ruining[/b] the story's depth. If this is how they want to progress further, by [b]forcefully involving[/b] woke propaganda - then I don't see a reason to keep playing the game only to ruin my now "good expectations and opinion".

Any reason why relationships of any type are even necessary? Why not just focus on the actual story. I genuinely don't care who is in love with who. Focus on a great game with thoughtful story telling. There are so many things to explorer in the lore. Give the relationships a break. Tell a story about the first ever guardian and if they're still around. Throw everyone for a loop and have the Winnower rest the Destiny universe with only a handful of fireteams remembering everything that transpired and have to help everyone else regain their memories. Anything but these love stories.

That's... actually an interesting and possibly correct theory, as if we go purely by real biological science they [i]shouldn't[/i] be able to have kids due to the limitations of gamete cycles, but that'd be awkward to try and explain in a lore tab. (Though, seeing as the writing is pretty mature, I don't see why they would have an issue with just saying it like I said it) Devrim and Marc aren't guardians, but they adopted a daughter, which actually does a good job of being "positive representation" while fitting in naturally with the setting, right down to the massive number of war-orphans. My personal theory is that it has to do with the playerbase and the target audience: I think in something with the kind of heavy writing that Destiny has (especially the recent stuff) is going to be ignored by anyone who has an issue with that, and I have noticed that the playerbase is no where near as saturated with straight-males as similar games. They're just recognizing who's following the story and going ahead and letting characters be gay. And let's be fair, so far, it's like, 4 couples, in a story with dozens of characters: I don't think it's as many as people think it is, just that they stand out because it hasn't been common in the past. I can't think of another A-List game with this many openly gay characters, but it's not that unrealistic a number.

We are just two files on a computer called the Traveler. When the ghost goes out to choose a candidate, it downloads the individual's soul and fabricates a .exe file out of it (an app.) It then asks that app what their body looked like, and creates a .BMP image file from that which it uses to 3D print the body. It is why we don't normally have memory of our past lives. We aren't that person anymore, rather a printed shell running the "your personality/soul" app. Ghosts are just super advanced 3D printers. Naturally, we can't actually breed by ourselves, any more than your iPhone can do so. Regarding relationships - Guardian "apps" don't see gender any more, so they form relationships with the most compatible app instead.

I believe that once a guardian gets rez'd, they become sterile. It's in the traveler's best interest, so it's protectors don't get distracted with a family. But it clearly doesn't castrate them, as they still can be VERY attracted to each other and with non-guardians.
