Can anybody confirm or deny that your reports don't just go into a black hole? I've been playing Gambit for four hours and haven't run across a single match where there wasn't somebody botting on either my team or the enemy team and I've been reporting every single one of them.
If Drifter cares about quitting negatively impacting player experience, he should care about AFK as well.

46 RepliesI can confirm that reports do not go into the void, rather they are reviewed and scrutinized against the server logs to identify any intentional shenanigans or if its a case of poor internet connection. For obvious reasons, this must be done carefully to avoid unfair punishment, and due diligence takes time. Logically, you almost never hear about the end results because 95% of cheaters know that they have been caught red-handed and are not very eager to attract any more attention to themselves; though some still think that they have a case and will try to get out of the ban, and some of those cases will get a response, like this one. Rest assured, your reports are being looked at. Just because you don't see the effect of your reports, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

This is what happens.

1 ReplyThey immediately take note of it and give them a demerit. Three demerits and they will receive a citation. Five citations and they'll receive violation. Four of those, and they're looking at a verbal warning. Keep it up, and they're looking at a written warning. Two of those and they'll be in a world of hurt, with a full disciplinary review by their supervisor. Meanwhile, you will receive a full disadulation.

1 ReplyI have it on very good authority that Deej personally goes round to their house(s) and farts on their pillow.

Filing a report causes the console of the offender to shoot a tiny needle into their leg. 50 reports and their console grows limbs and beats the hell out of them. 100 reports and the console melts itself then and there

14 RepliesNothing, it's a placebo.
-
2 RepliesThat’s one of the reason why I don’t report. It‘s mostly Bungies fault:/

They get an emblem.

1 ReplyBungie: In order to make Competitive more meaningful, we have renamed cheating players to 'Enhancement Players' and you will be matched with them more often in the future. <3 But please do not post the names of 'Enhancement Players' in the forums, or you will be banned. :)

Nothing, why do u think ppl still ddoss in comp? Games a joke

2 RepliesHomeland security opens an investigation on their citizenship, then ice gets involved
-
Nothing. It is just a button to make the player reporting feel better. Bungie needs cheaters in their game in order to boost player count numbers so it looks like the game is popular.

F _ _ K ALL HAPPENS

Nothing happens. I've reported known people for using macros and I still match them all the time; nothing is done even though they are known and I gather, because they are known.
-
Nothing
-
On xbox when a player is reported you are less likely to be matched with them.

Edited by YATM: 8/26/2019 3:39:47 AMOnce you get enough reports against you Bungie takes a look. Once you got past a certain threshold they take a look. There was a site where you could see your score for D1.

12 RepliesAbsolutely nothing. Which is going to be interesting on pc when it moves to Steam. If you block a player in Steam, it actually prevents them from matching with you in the game.
-
Bungie gives your IP and full address to the offender and you get swatted 😂
-
Nothing, not a thing...... Bungie only gives a shit what you tubers and streamers say! It’s sad but been that way since 2014.
-
Erm I can confirm, I work at Bungie.
No I dont but..
Bungie looks at your report. Prints out that report. Balls it up, munch on it, spit it out, open it again, wipe their as with it, throw it in the trash and laugh. Then when you come on the forums to ask about said cheater and give an example of one, you get banned for "name and shame"
