This is the single dumbest game design decision I've seen in my entire life. I've NEVER heard of this before. If games have any difference in recoil between console and PC, it's REDUCED recoil on consoles because it's harder to control it with a controller.
I just thought I'd remind everyone that this still hasn't been addressed, so if you have any hopes of them getting their head out of their *** about any other issue, just give up.

... M&KB will always be easier to control lol. But the bad thing on console is the HC. They arent as consistent as D1 but still usable. I use HCs a lot but they arent as sticky
-
7 RepliesI agree. PC is easy mode. Why do you think most Loser Tubers have switched.
-
48 RepliesTo the people claiming console would be at an advantage if recoil was normalized between all platforms, let me pose you a question: What platform accounts for the most world's first raids, speedruns, and solo flawless challenges? I'll give you a hint: it's the platform without recoil that can map crits with smgs.

They dont listen to community or advice on gameplay. They act like selfish trolls hoarding all the keys and looking down on us while saying we should buy. -blam!- you bungie, not another cent.

There's a reason that precison frame weapons have been so dominant in PvP: they're the only weapons that don't kick like a mule.
-
If we could have the ability to turn off AA, and get the same kind of recoil and lack of bloom that PC has, I would be all for it. Bungie has seriously forgotten where they came from with not just Destiny, but as a company. If Halo were a PC title from the start, and console was an afterthought, (as it seem to feel like here with D2) it is unlikely they would have seen anything close to the success they had with it.

12 RepliesConsole players: just want to play the game in the same sandbox as PC PC elitist: no you can’t because of reasons that doesn’t even affect us.
-
30 RepliesI don't care if console never gets FoV sliders I don't mind if we never get Traction as a game option rather than a perk But please..normalize the recoil/bloom across all versions of the game. The game is going to be a balancing nightmare if they never do. Two examples: Not Forgotten, busted on console while top tier on PC; and Lord of Wolves, busted on PC while competitive on console.

6 RepliesDude, when I see Youtubers playing Destiny 2 on pc getting kills with smgs (Recluse) in PvE (raid content) around 30 meters with hardly any recoil it blows my mind.
-
4 RepliesThis proves my theory. Console players are better because they have to overcome their handicaps.
-
60 RepliesActually Overwatch has much less recoil on PC as well. It always cracks me up when people say “PC Master Race” and they’re literally playing on easy mode.
-
8 RepliesAll I know is if they ever put in cross play and PC makes a scene... console players will get destroyed.

If they just figured out a way to up the FoV on console without sacrificing visual quality it would help a lot. The 70 FoV zoom amplifies the recoil. Try 70 FOV on PC while shooting at a wall with The Last Word. Then try 90-100+. The only skill gap is movement. Backwards slides, easier diagonal slides and zippy directional camera changes when performing a dodge. That’s it. More FPS for more input registration isn’t really all that useful anymore because of the Titan Skate nerf. Anything else you can do on console 100%. I can’t wait to switch to PC where I can play PvP and actually have confidence when I shoot a HC that my shots will land. Just a better experience overall. In the long run a better investment than buying a console every 4-5 years that can only do a fraction of what a decent PC can do. Next year the price of the “next gen” console could buy a cheap PC that would perform on the same level or better with room for upgrades at anytime. Here is the problem, majority of people who “game” and take it the least bit serious know that PC is where it’s at and the best place to play anything. And those people will more than likely switch to PC if given the chance. Yes I know some people can’t afford a PC, but if you just love console and are planning on buying a PS5 or Xbox whatever... you know you can play with a controller on PC. And you really think the guys that sit on their living room couch, 15’ away from their 80” 4K TV with ridiculous input lag... having a beer or 10 after work... you think those guys care about recoil, better FPS, faster load times , optimal DPS.. bla bla bla. It’s not worth the time. You can just flip a switch.

Edited by Crevan: 7/28/2019 7:51:23 PMRecoil works differently on consoles because you aren't limited by how much desk space you have to drag your mouse downward to control recoil on PC. You have to lift your mouse up, and move your entire arm to reset its position. You can't just continue to keep your thumbs down and let it automatically correct your aim for you like you can on consoles. The control scheme is mechanically different because your entire left hand, right hand, and arms are controlling your character on PC, and not just your thumbs and index fingers on consoles. On PC, we have to use four fingers to move. Consoles just need one thumb. On PC, we have to use our entire arm to aim. Consoles just need one thumb.

8 RepliesWhat are you guys gonna ask for next? Remove FOV slider of PC? Cap fps at 30? Why are you even complaining about this? It's not like there's crossplay and your getting matched against pc players? ???

6 RepliesEdited by DuBChiri2: 7/28/2019 6:15:43 AMMouse and keyboard has less recoil because they don't have aim assist, so on pc if you miss it's absolutely your own fault. On console, there's more recoil but it has aim assist which "helps" control the recoil and lack of more proper precision due to a thumb vs a whole hand. As for pc players saying console is easy just because of aim assist, over half the weapons, might I be as ballsy to say 3/4 of the weapons are terrible on console, I don't mean weapon type but just general weapons because of their shitty recoil. So although the stickiness of aiming on console makes it "easier," being able to control weaponry that isn't outright better than the rest is over 3x as hard to control on console. And before any clowns try to come out and say "oh the recoils fine, you just suck," go grab the loquitor auto rifle from the gun smith. With the long zoom scope, It has a kill range potential of over 40 meters (tested myself, it's 46 meters without fall off). But good luck hitting a target past the first bullet on console. Here's an old review video by cammycakes showing off the weapon on pc in year 1 when it came out, skip to 4:00 as the first part of it is just talking about range and crap: https://youtu.be/nyQHX-T2Zg0 If you don't care to watch it, the gist of it that you can visually compare (as he doesn't do a console comparison) that on pc, even the BIGGEST piece of crap weapons can be aimed on pc. But then if you are a console player, flip back to your version and try to do the same thing. Aim assist won't save shit.

1 ReplyIt’s literally the same thing, console just has a lower fov, it’s hard to control recoil because it’s much more zoomed in. Play on pc with the fov at 75 like console and see how hard it is to control. It’s also easier to be precise when you use your hand rather than just your thumbs, mnk is not easier than controller, they’re both very different but just limited to what you can do with a controller

14 RepliesAwww all the cheap people cant afford PCs
-
Destiny was designed for consoles before expanding to PC's. I know it is just a video game but recoil on consoles is far closer to realism than PC's.
-
ONLY PC GET GUD
-
17 RepliesJump to 4:01 That sums up the difference I would really suggest you watch it.
-
6 RepliesIt is hilarious to see pc boys comments trying to prove the opposite and make bungie convince to leave the console recoil as is.
-
Ive played both. Lets balance out the game. Lets bring console recoil to PC. What changes exactly?
-
3 RepliesSure, but from all the comments here's what I'm gonna say: STOP CALLING CONTROLLER EASY AIM IF YOU'VE NEVER USED IT STOP CALLING MNK EASY MODE IF YOU'VE NEVER USED IT. As a PC player, mnk does require skill. And from what people I've played comp with say, top 1% console players are nothing on PC, more like top 10%. I'm PC and I'm hot garbage, even after getting fabled last season. Yeah recoil is easier to handle on MnK but that's because of one thing: The mouse vs the stick. A stick for controlling your reticle is vastly different from having an entire hand to control and move the reticle. I did try out the ps4 controller before, and dear god how do you control that well console players? You guys have my respect, because I don't understand how you can control your aim and camera with a tiny stick. PC is my preferred choice for that reason, you have so much more control. It's not that you don't have less recoil, it's that using a mouse just makes it more stable.
-
7 RepliesIt's because you have a thumbstick and pulling a thumbstick down is easy you can't pull a mouse down forever because your hand would fall off the table consoles have more vertical recoil, pc has less vertical but more sway
-
Good luck with this one. Unless you're a popular content creator that Bungie adores.
