Get super mods out of PvP entirely.

Leave them in pve. Fine. They have absolutely no place in PvP. EDIT: It’s a fair question: “Well, why don’t you just use them too?” Because I enjoy gunplay and strategy, not using a “free kills, I win” button. But that’s just me. I guess a lot of people love winning by literally just hitting one button.

  • By this argument we should remove Bad Juju as well. Oh, and the Chaos Reach thing which gets you super energy. Oh, and armour perks that get you extra super energy on certain types of kills. You know what, why not remove paragon mods whilst we're at it. Spamming class abilities is so stupid. And grenade cooldown mods. And melee ability mods. What the heck, why not remove all mods?! They give players an unfair advantage anyway, even though everyone can use them but some chose not to. See where I'm going here?

    • I've come to the realization that this game isn't about skill any more. It's about abusing things that make the game easier. The current meta is chaining supers, picking up orbs and lord of wolves. Big Yikes. That's why i've went back to counter strike, a game that actually requires strategy, tactics and skill. The shear fact that you've been downvoted to 0 just tells me that this community wants easy mechanics, not skill based gameplay. That's a shame.

      • The day bungie switched shotguns and snipers to the secondary slot the skill of this game faded away in a heartbeat, New and more powerful supers were then added to destiny and then mods kept adding to it. There is no skill in this game, anyone can talk all the smack they want but destiny was most balanced in year 1. If only the ttk of primary weapons were improved instead of the specials coming to the primary slots then destiny would be in a much different meta. I know how annoying the mida meta was, I remember how annoying team shooting was, however the reason players couldn’t flank or do much was because all primary weapons took 2 seconds to kill. Right now that wouldn’t be the case since we have weapons that kill in .8 seconds as a standard ttk. If we move all special slots to the heavy slot again players should expect all weapons coming to the meta. •Auto rifles may not be as good as before but at least they will see more use. •Pulse rifles have always been good so that wont change •bows will see a lot more play if you use them as support weapons •scouts will actually be viable because of les shotguns constantly rushing at them •hand cannons will be the same as pulse rifles, they will always be viable •submachine guns and not just recluse will be viable again (I miss antiope) •side arms will exist again because they are really good at close range •swords will be more viable since not everyone would run shotguns anymore to melt you in one shot •shotguns will actually take skill to use! What? Skill??? •fusions will actually see more play believe it or not because of less shotguns and could counter other weapon archetypes •snipers would unfortunately suck again but hey at least 90% more weapons would be viable in destiny •rockets and grenade launchers would kind of stay the same •linear fusions may or may not see more play so idk Did I miss any archetype? From all the weapons on the top of my head, simply moving over all specials to heavy slot again and making primary weapons kill fast could actually bring back actual skill to destiny. Thats just weapons, I could talk about abilities too but this is already too damn long

        • I run 4 super mods and Pump action, combined with orb drops from other people i get 3 or 4 supers a game easily, and that's just as 1 player out of 12. It's actually stupid, especially in comp, how overpowering supers actually are. I'm also not a fan of how often heavy spawns. i know it's been nerfed but it's still pretty frequent. QP is at a point where using your primary is becoming increasingly redundant because you're being constantly ran by lord of wolves or Erentil or Jotun or Heavy or Supers etc.

I mean, unless you're like me and share your account with your fiance, I'm not really sure how your KD would be so low; especially if you're talking about you enjoying gunplay and strategy in pvp... If you want my honest opinion, it looks like you're getting killed by gunplay bro. Again I know KD isn't everything....but let it be known; my girl is horrible at PvP ( don't tell her I said that lol )!!! Talk about murdering someone's KD🤣... Nevertheless her and my last 25 PvP games played is still at a collective 1.5 KD.... To have a negative KD, there's gotta be something else going on... I'd bet my bottom dollar that you're pretty much dying from gunplay and your "strategy"...😕. If you still want the super mods gone, cool.... Just as long as you know that it's not gonna change anything... In fact you're probably gonna die more now since there'll be more gunplay due to less supers time... Be careful what you ask for....

            • I'd settle for a pvp mode with guns only, no supers at all. Yeah, some people aren't going to like it but they can play the original mode if they want. Everyone wins.

              • That's why liked about year 1, 1 maybe 2 supers and all one shot kill weapons where in the power slot so only guy at a time could have ammo so entire team couldn't crutch one shot kill weapons all game long.

              • Honestly I miss the Year 1 gunplay where you actually had to hit your shots for a longer period of time and be more accurate with a higher ttk. However, if Bungie would just add more game modes already, I mean, I don’t even play pvp but I have no clue how you pvp’ers have the patience and tolerance just Quickplay and Comp. like cmon get other game modes. Make a game mode with no supers and only primaries. That’d be a test of skill....but what do I know lol.

              • The worst part of Supers in PVP is that they last too long and the maps are so small. The number of times I am killed by a roaming super, respawn in a different area of the map and then get killed by the same guardian in the same super.

              • Yea with 5 super mods and abysall extractors from nazerac sin running a recluse I average 3-4 supers a match but I've seen on multiple occasions people get their super 6-7 times in a match running the same loadout, but in pve getting your super back in 30sec is easily achievable with teamate and masterwork orbs running this same load out

                • After coming back to D2, while I missed season 6, season 7 is already pushing me to Gambit only territory. The Crucible is all about one shots now, Snipers used to be good, now everyone is using them, shotguns are somewhat there, OEM is used more than before now. I use a very "throw myself at them" build in Crucible, but I feel forced to stay back with a pulse rifle now.

                  So your "Strategy" is to not make yourself as resilient as possible during super and to not get your super as fast as possible? Seems like a weird strategy. Question, do you run over orbs of light during a game or do you actively avoid them? Your post seems like your trying to sound hardcore and no offence here but it kind of comes off as stupid.

                  If you don’t like “free kill I win” button mechanics then that means taking supers and several abilities out of PvP Might as well play CoD at that point

                  • Super mods win matches. First super = guaranteed kills = orbs. Orbs = super chain. Opposition spends more time in respawn screen and therefore are not gaining super energy to counter. Mercy rule activated. Everyone puts on 5 super mods. All other armour mods are now made entirely irrelevant due to meta now revolving around super mod usage. Devs adjust super mods to fall in line and not become the clear choice. Forum goes nuts. New meta discovered which everyone runs to / asks nerfed. Super mods nerf gets forgotten about. That's the script. Most of you are gonna act your parts, some of you will adlib. But either way the results will remain the same.

                    • Absolutely agree. The amount of supers people can get in PvP games is unreal, and this combined with how strong supers currently are is just a pain

                        Agreed. Supers are broken enough and while we’re at it let’s go ahead and remove power ammo or at least greatly reduce how much it spawns.
