Which is better and why?
I’ll never forget the day Shaggy walked onto set and announced he had killed God.
Edit: I will say I absolutely LOVE Gambit Prime and enjoy Destiny 2 PVP (I just despise the current Meta) but personally I enjoy Destiny 1’s content more I was very heavily invested in the guns and different strategies and combos for gear and exotics
If you’re looking to play Destiny 1 on Xbox add me

1 ReplyEdited by Darth Lunchbox: 4/22/2019 8:52:16 PMSame, but it doesn't matter, D1 is not coming back, and these type of posts are useless.
-
Where is the option they are both average games?
-
10 RepliesD1 does absolutely nothing better than D2 accept raids, nostalgia is really the reason why it's 76/24.
-
3 RepliesThe load times on D2 are horrible compared to D1.
-
1 ReplyThe second album has a few hits but it’s polish, The first album you listened to every song and it was raw.
-
1 ReplyDestiny 1 because of the Armor. Destiny 2 because of ledge grab. Hmm idk 🤔
-
1 ReplyDestiny 1 because Randal the Vandal.

18 RepliesDestiny 2 is the best version of destiny we've ever had, that's a fact. But people will always say d1 is better for some odd reason. These are the same people who complain about the season pass which is gonna give like 15 + exotics, 2 raids, 3 unique activites, gambit prime, full sets of armor and legendary weapons. And more, yet rise of iron was praised when the season pass is way better and didn't take a full year. D2>D1
D1 did have trials though.....
1 ReplyEdited by Swiftchao: 4/20/2019 10:19:59 PMI only joined the community shortly after the D1 April update and got hooked to the game I loved the Destiny 1 Raids they were alot of fun to learn and were challenging with hard mode introducing new mechanics and no revives so players actually had to get good to do hard mode while destiny 2 raids are much less fun with a few exceptions such as spire of stars and pretty much removes hard/prestige mode (not counting EoW, SoS) after leviathan While the crucible still had a meta it had alot more balance in destiny 1 compared to destiny 2 since I was running around with anything I wanted without feeling like I was in a massive disadvantage unlike D2 with its PvP pinnacles ruining the meta which has alot more of a presence in the game Gambit is nice and all but has the same problems as competitive with premades vs matchmade teams and power weapons with invading Destiny 2 made a couple of small nice QoL additions and made events less about the microtransactions which I appreciate such as collections, ledge grab, viewing the map, etc... The loot is much better in Destiny 1 compared to 2 good looking armor, shaders, weapons, etc... Even with some of the good changes D2 brought to the franchise it sacrificed too much of what was great about the games which is why I still love Destiny 1 more

Edited by Donkey_Kong_Swe: 4/21/2019 9:17:36 AMD1 was better. Subclasses and the skill tree had more options and more combinations with armor pieces. It was more dark and mystic. Better strikes. I liked Poe better than Gambit. Maybe i liked it more because it was a new and fresh game?

THE GLORIOUS SKILL TREES! Re-running raids meant something. heroic playlist WAS heroic. much better strikes. RNG drops that I was excited (not just a "world loot pool") exotic quests tied to bounty completion. hoard chests relevant drops from crucible. Prison of elders better modifiers. The Goddamn Gjallarhorn. The Dreadnaught. Trials of Osiris. Soundtrack for DLC/Expansions were better I felt much more immersed in content. Harder content. Relevant raid perks on raid armour Raid ornaments D2. The Dreaming City Pinnacle weapons (Struggling already) Intentionality in farming - prime weapons, forge weapons (D1 did have this though) New exotic weapons and armour which has changed builds Returning exotics for nostalgia (although the argument of paying for previous content speaks for itself) Conclusion - I understand that with D1 it had 3 years to change and grow and I understand D2 is a different game and only in Year 2, but they feel world's apart. At this point by making classes and grind much more streamline, the endgame feels like the triumph system, but if the only reward is a bit of purple writing only to be invalidated after another niche grind, what's the point? Your triumph score? A discount on a badge to say well done? Interesting weapons in D1 were awesome, grinding for the perfect roll, killing with it to level it (or use motes of light) was a far superior method of levelling and extending playtime without having to grind your balls off for cores, I have no issues with the core grind, but the motes process (or killing) was a much more effective route, Understandably some players didn't have the time for levelling and the basis of motes made levelling relevant weapons easier for them, by obtaining through gaining xp was a fair and easy way to do so, Big rant, but at this point sweeping changes should be made, especially with a result on a poll like this, make the game the community enjoys and you might see a resurgence in the player base

1 ReplyEdited by Zweethelm: 4/21/2019 8:33:23 PMExotics, armor sets, raids, factions, strike specific loot, skill trees, all were better in D1. D2 brought some great stuff but i miss a lot of things and mechanics from D1.

3 RepliesD1 was pretty shitty up until TTK and there was "more of the same" ridiculous content droughts, but at least there was more strikes and heroic strikes gave gear similar to max light raids do. Idk why they changed so much of the game? I'm almost tempted to download it and start over from scratch.

2 RepliesEdited by HellfireEclipse: 4/20/2019 10:19:19 PMD1 had more mystery and style. D2 graphics and mechanics are better.
-
1 ReplyI would give my left nut for Destiny 1 on PC.
-
People only remember the highlights of d1 and don’t remember that for 99% of the games life there was no new content. They also don’t remember how bad most of the metas where at least in d2 most weapons are usable.
-
1 Replyd1 _proper pvp matchmaking _no comp - sorry, not sorry sweats. there seems to be some "need" to put everything behind the comp "wall". also i dont want to relive "shindig in the crucible" every day _(heroic) strikes, the matchmade pve activity, had unique loot and were worth doing. _oh also the fact it was a new game and not a reboot that dicked over the players and everyone is stuck earning the same guns/armor again. really only thing d2 has going for it is gambit, especially after the changes to the third round. a solid game mode that strikes a nice balance of pve and pvp imo.

The numbers are in Destiny 1 by a huge majority I love it
-
2 RepliesEven after all this time destiny 1 feels like the sequel to destiny 2.

They are both flawed experiences, but I prefer D1. Titans were much more versatile. Hunters could absolutely fly around the map. Warlocks with nothing manacles was unstoppable. Raids we're much better on the whole. Iron banner was worth doing. Strikes had a legit purpose. Night falls were awesome. There were amazing guns that felt powerful. I will say this, though: people do seem to have forgotten how terrible some of the D1 metas were in crucible. The current D2 shotgun meta is NOTHING compared to some of the D1 iterations (HoW blink shotgun anyone? Matador 64 with rangefinder?) Thorn Meta was horrible. Clever dragon meta was great if you had one with HCR, otherwise it was terrible. Remember the sidearm meta? I still have a twitch from Wormwood. So yes, D1 was a superior game as a package, but crucible has been garbage since HoW in my opinion.

Destiny 1. Primary weapons were more consistent and at the end special spamming was not viable anymore
-
4 RepliesD1 had better fun strikes compared to d1 trash strikes
-
I’d say D2, but that doesn’t mean I’m happy with the things it’s missing from D1 I’m hoping D3 rectifies these issues (we all know there’s gonna be a D3)
-
3 RepliesDestiny 2 is a better game by far. Destiny 1 just had more interesting and fun content. Destiny 2 also has another year and a half before it’s done. Comparing Destiny 2 to Destiny 1 isn’t fair at this point. Destiny 2’s life cycle isn’t done.

1 ReplyD1 by far ,I quit playing video games for the longest time after playing D2.
