Dreaming City “Starlight” Ghost Shell
So I’ve read in numerous places that this item drops from Ascendant Challenges. I’ve completed all challenges three times a week since September and it hasn’t ever dropped. This is all I’m missing for Cursebreaker. We only have three chances to complete ascendant challenges and get a random reward.
In the collections menu, if you scroll over the ghost shell, there will be a note that says that it drops from DC activities. Ok, that’s vague. I’ve heard and read rumors online that some players got this particular ghost shell from heroic public events or blind well activities. I want to grind for this outside of ascendant challenges but I want proof that it can drop elsewhere before I begin such a grind. Don’t want to grind without knowing it is at least possible to get the shell. Please keep in mind that this is a specific ghost shell called the Starlight Ghost Shell. This isn’t any Shell you get from Last Wish or Tess in the tower.
Bungie, Streamers, really anyone reading this.... too many of us are stuck in limbo over the DC cosmetics being all many are missing for the title. Please FACTUALLY confirm or deny if this shell is only available from ascendant challenges or where else, if possible.

I FINALLY got the Starlight Shell last Wednesday. I was in the same boat as you, doing all the Dreaming City things on 3 characters. I've also collected and read all the Forsaken lore, I did all the Triumphs on the Dreaming City Destinations page (except solo Throne Flawless...cuz I'm good, but not THAT good). Needless to say, I love the Awoken and everything about the Dreaming City and its lore. I did Blind Well and Story Mission too on each charecter, JUST in case it happened to drop somewhere else on the off chance. I ended up getting it on my second character from the Ascendant Challenge chest, not the bounty. You can try doing everything else, but honestly I'd save yourself the trouble and just do Ascendant Challenges. Blind Well is still a good way to get exotics and the Power Level is going up tomorrow, so you'll probably be doing all the other tasks anyway. Just don't kill yourself doing everything on your alt characters unless you plan on leveling them all at the same time. Good luck and I hope you get it soon. If not, Bungies at least addressed the issue finally and has said that they are working on a fix to all the RNG shenanigans. They extended the dates on the physical seals too. I'm not even mad about this fix either. In my eyes, whoever did all the triumphs and is just unlucky still deserves the title. You'll get it soon.

I have never heard of anyone ever getting it from any other places other than ascendent challenges

3 RepliesIt’s technically possible to get it from any activity in the dreaming city that awards DC loot, but most people unlocked it from the ascendant challenge more than anywhere else. They have said, though, that they are extending the deadline on the Bungie rewards and improving the RNG sometime in the future.
