Error code: weasel > ban?

I didn't play Destiny 2 couple months (since october). I bought Destiny 2 Forsaken recently. Played one evening, next day I got "weasel" error twice or so. Next time I happeed to log in my account was banned. I didn't use cheats. However, I have Afterburner (without Riva tuner overlay), Discord, Geforce Experience and Streamlabs OBS (use it only for PS4 capture though) installed. I didn't capture game window or smth. Am I did something wrong? I played Destiny about 4 years and now this. P.S.: Sorry for bad English.

  • https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 It states: Weasel Errors: When receiving a ban or restriction, players will be disconnected from Destiny services and receive Error Code Weasel as part of the process of applying the ban or restriction. This is expected and does not indicate that you have been banned or restricted due to disconnection.

  • Got the same error code (once only), ran the game afterward - there it is, banned! I don't even have any capture or any unusual software installed, and don't ever cheat. My first ever couple of hours in game; I didn't even reach any multiplayer stuff at all (so I couldn't affect anyone else's "experience in game"), was disconnected from a singleplayer mission... Wanted to see whether the game was good... Well, I guess, I got my answer now! Sadly... =( Simply an awful experience for my New Year vacation! Thanks, Bungie! I appreciate how you, people, appreciate the new players! Such a warm welcome!

Typically, pc bans are due to software detected by Destiny 2 while running. These include but not limited to, trainers, aimbots, autofire, mods, graphics hacks, anything that injects code into games, debuggers for programing, even some viruses. any of these could cause a ban, even if not destiny 2 specific. The software you mentioned ( I have Afterburner (without Riva tuner overlay), Discord, Geforce Experience and Streamlabs OBS (use it only for PS4 capture though) installed) would not cause a ban. Bungie does not discuss restrictions or bans. Restrictions are temporary, and will not be overturned or undone before they expire. Once an account is banned however, that ban is permanent. Account restrictions and bans are only done in extreme cases; if actions were taken against your account, then it was with reason. There are NO options to dispute or overturn account restrictions or bans. Bans are lifetime for that account https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929
