Error Code "buffalo" since purchase weeks ago

The game loads to what might not even be the main menu, telling me to press ENTER to play, then informing me that I "must restart the application using Blizzard's Battle.net app in order to play Destiny 2." I have only ever launched Destiny 2 through the Battle.net launcher. The message continues, directing me here with the error code "buffalo." Several weeks have passed, going on two months, and nothing has changed. Numerous restarts and reinstallations have made no sign of improvement. I was hoping it was just a registration bug, but almost two months is giving a little too much benefit of the doubt to this problem working itself out. Maybe something went wrong with my account's activation? Could an admin push a button somewhere that I can't reach?

 • Am I honestly the only person who's ever had this problem? Does nobody know what else can cause this? Will Vageta ever get his hair cut? Tune in next time...

 • ALright, support team, I've followed the "buffalo" resolution guide 6 times now [by completely uninstalling Destiny 2 through the launcher, using the windows Uninstall a Program method to uninstall Battle.net, deleting both related Roaming folders, then sequentially reinstalling both], and the damn thing has not changed one bit. Is there not one person who knows what the heck is going on here? Nobody? Nobody who works for Bungie who has ever dealt with this problem? Just me?

 • Hi. Thank you for your report. You may want to review our BUFFALO help article for tips that may help with this issue. You may also want to try opening the battle.net launcher "Settings" and change the "When I open a game" option to "close the battle.net launcher completely" option. You may want to follow the below steps, which might help with your issue:
1. Completely uninstall both Destiny 2 and the Battle.net application 2. Delete the following local cache/settings directories:
– %APPDATA%\Bungie\DestinyPC - %PROGRAMDATA%\Battle.net More Information:
*WARNING* Deleting these will cause you to lose persisted settings, such as logged in users, keybinds and graphics settings in Destiny, etc. The directory names above are actual paths that can be used in Windows Explorer. For example, if you enter "%PROGRAMDATA%" in the Windows Explorer address bar, it will automatically take you to C:\ProgramData (default), which is a hidden directory.

3. Reinstall the Battle.net app and Destiny 2
• just an obligatory comment: I have not gotten past the game's main screen yet since purchase, either before or after purchasing Forsaken. Yes, that does mean I bought the expansions without even being able to play. Yes, I agree that was an unwise decision. Yes, I would still like to play.
