IMPORTANT: Destiny 2's total price tag.

$60 US Dollars base game $20 Expansion $20 Expansion $40 Expansion $30 'Annual Pass' Total: $170 US dollars. Of course, if you preordered the $100 edition, it racks up to $210, plus whatever you may have spent at Eververse. $170 dollars for a game that hardly deserves to be $60. Maybe $100 at best, with DLC. I don't feel like I need an explanation as to why this makes me feel sick. I'm absolutely disgusted with the direction that not only Bungie, but most of the gaming industry is taking. $170 dollars for a freaking video game... Let that sink in. Edit: Nevermind the deluxe edition, that came with the expansions.

    • I paid 60 for the latest far cry. Played for maybe 75 hours and thought it was well spent. I've put way more than that into d2 so the 90 for base and 2 dlcs that ive put a couple hundred hours on is more than worth it. Thats literally less then a dollar per hour of playtime. I fail to see how that isnt worth it. Do i think its perfect? No, it has several glaring problems. Compared to almost any recent triple A title its possibly the best dollar per hour of playtime ratio.

      • I actually feel bad for the people that aren’t able to afford it. For me gaming as a hobby is very cheap. For the amount of money I sync in & for the time I get out of it can’t be beat. I wish my other hobbies were this cheap. Started gaming as a kid in 1976 once a gamer always a gamer. Signed gamer for life.

      • I played Anarchy Online for 10 years at 100 bucks a year or something a month. $1200 plus the base game and I think 4 expansion so lets say $1500 bucks for 10 years. No Man's Sky $60.00 Base Game $60.00 Maybe 4 Days of a Game Black Ops 3 $60.00 Base Game $60.00 1 Month of a Game Fallout 4 $60.00 Base Game $50.00 Season Pass $110.00 1 Year of Play Dying Light $60.00 Base Game $30.00 Season Pass $90.00 2 Years of a Game So far for Destiny I payed. Destiny 1 $60.00 Base Game $35.00 Seasons Pass $40.00 Taken King $30.00 Rise of Iron $165.00 3 Years of a Game Destiny 2 $60.00 Base Game $30.00 Season Pass $90.00 1 Year of a Game if you add in Year 2 $40.00 Forsaken $30.00 Annual Pass $160.00 2 Years of a Game. All together that is 5 years of a game for $325.00 dollars. For my entertainment buck I can't bitch about it.

$170 for base game, 3 expansions, 3 extra content injections, and 2 lots of deluxe/preorder content $100 cumulative for dlc lets say $30 cumulative for season 4-6 content that leaves $40 for game, and deluxe content

            • Incorrect, you could've gotten the season pass for the first two expansions. If you think the price isn't worth the product, welcome to the real world and don't buy it =) My bet is you will buy it and still complain about it. Please prove me wrong.

                • even tho the game ended up being pretty mediocre in the grand scheme of things most of us averaged 200/300+ hours at least on this game and thats being kinda casual. between god of war / far cry / monster hunter world , i spent $195 , and im barely breaking 100 hours of gaming amongst (3) AAA games so yea.

                  • Let what sink in? Why is $170 such a big deal? You do realize Fortnite is free and makes more than $200m a month right? Let that sink in. Free game. $200m a month on skins that I pact the game in no way at all. Another is Smite. Yet again free game, they have an event called the Odyssey. You get skins and other small cosmetics. Every single one has been $100+. No one mentions the price. If you're so unhappy with Destiny and Bungie then just stop playing, no one is forcing you to pay for anything.

                      • You don’t need to buy the Annual Pass so it’s only $140, if you can’t afford paying $70 a year for a game you might want to think about getting a job

                          • Getting my moneys worth tbh. Spent 60 on god of war and while that was a friggin amazing game 10/10....its collecting dust now. While destiny has its problems, it has a system to keep me playing every week with what I paid for, for the game and 2 dlc's. Seeing as the next one is looking to be bigger than the base and both dlc's in terms of things to do...Ill definitely buy to be able to keep playing for hours. Will hold off on the annual thing though.

So , I won’t hate on you like the rest honestly depending on your age. As my friends an I as well had a similar conversation about this tonight. And if I’m correct, it could simply be summarized by a “ back in my day we bought a WHOLE game for less than $45” statement. It also saddens me that I feel most of those who’d tell you they don’t bat an eye at $170 or so are (a) using mommy or daddies $$ , or (b) were probably not born yet...so there’s that Then again I’m part of the last generation that remembers what life was like before the Internet
