If you were a Destiny 1 player.
Destiny 1 $60+The Dark Below $20+ The House of Wolves $20+ The Taken King $40+ Rise of Iron $35
Destiny 1 in its finally complete state costs: $175 USD
If you are a Destiny 2 Player
Destiny 2 $60+ Curse of Osiris $20+ Warmind $20+ Fall Expansion $???+ Future Expansion $???
Or alternatively Destiny 2 $60 + Season Pass $35
This far into Destiny 2's life cycle, you have paid $95 at a minimum $100 at most. There is also still Eververse in the game. If you played both D1 and D2 you have paid $275 on a game and potentially more if you spent money on Eververse. If you purchased the Season Pass for Destiny 2 it will not cover the unannounced Fall Expansion that will likely cost $40 dollars. Just like Taken King did. I will not make any statements of "I hate Bungo", this is for you the player to just think this over for a bit.

I work so I can play what I want, yeah it may add up but the time I've spent on both games is more than worth the money I've spent.
-
Yet gaming as a hobby is still dirt cheap. The total price of D1 vs hours played cones to about 0.07 cents an hour for me. I would say that’s some damn cheap entertainment.
-
Actually thats pretty cheap for the hours and good times I've had over the last 3 and a half years.
-
Looks at over a month of play time for D1 and over 300 hours played in D2 so far 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 seems like I got my money's worth personally

1 ReplyIt's a hobby, hobbies cost money. Wether it is worth it to you, is a personal opinion. But thx for calculating something not alot of ppl care about.

Destiny: $50 (white PS4 bundle) TDB/HoW: $0 (gift) TTK: $40 RoI: $30 total: $120 Destiny 2: $60 CoO/Wrmd: $40 total: $100 wow... $220 on Destiny sounds like a lot... if it wasn't for Destiny i would have bought CoD: Ghost - $60 CoD: AW - $60 CoD: BO3 - $60 CoD: IW - $60 CoD: MWR - $60 CoD: WWII - $60 so, playing Destiny has saved me $140 and given me a far better experience than the 5 hour campaign/365 days of PVP cycle i was going through with CoD.

no more cash from me....... Re hashed, recycled, smoked blown, dumpster fire.....I wish I never listed and like the over hyped advertising for D1.......I wish I never wasted any time on this mess..... D2=disappointing poo

value for money , for the hours ive put into it .. cant complain really .

I spent way more over 4 years. Some people have decent salaries and don’t think about this. It’s like spending money on movies or concerts

That's a good deal.

16 RepliesIf you were to have bought WoW on D2's Launch day, you will have spent: Basic WoW: $20 + $105 to $156 for subscription ($125 to $176 or $14.67 to $17.86 per month) WoW Complete: $60 + $105 to $156 for subscription ($165 to $216 or $18.00 to $23.58 per month) Now, If you were to expand that to buying every WoW expansion as soon as they came out and played WoW since launch: Base game: $60 All expansions: $60 x 7 expansions Subscription fees: 149 months Per Month: $2235 Per 3 months: $2100 Per 6 months: $1950 Total: $480 (for the game content) + $1950 to $2235 (for the ability to play); Comes out to $2430 to $2715 Total per month: $16.31 to $18.10 Keep in mind this is roughly 12.5 years worth of content. My math is probably off because this is just estimations. Destiny 1 per month (assuming you played from launch til now): $3.98 Destiny 1 per month (assuming you stopped when D2 came out and started playing D2 instead): $6.25 Destiny 2 per month (assuming you played from launch til now): $12.50 Moral of the story: Monthly subscriptions are a kick in the balls but generally keep the developers happy to make lots of new content consistently.

2 RepliesThat's pennies compared to what I paid for world of Warcraft over a few years, 10x36 monthly sub plus 2 expansions 2x40 = £440 for 3 years worth of entertainment money well spent. You guys are paying peanuts for your live game 🤣

$275 is almost the price of going to see 10 movies at the theater. 10 movies would be about 20 hrs of entertainment. I've got way more than 20 hrs into both games.
