By no means I'm claiming DE is perfect, far from it, they have several flaws, but they are doing more right than wrong and when I compare them to you, they seem to be doing the exact opposite of what you are and look what it has brought them? A thriving and healthy community and player base.
Most of the complaints I hear about Destiny 2 are non-existent in Warframe:
Game is too slow: the go fast update was a joke. Just look at movement speed in Warframe, even with the go fast update, comparing Destiny 2 against Warframe is like comparing a turtle to a cheetah.
Lack of content: The star chart in Warframe is homongous, not only that, but DE keeps pouring content into the game, Plains of Eidolon was a great addition and there are plans to keep releasing more of such open world content.
PVP vs PVE: You can't do both without dividing your player base or making a half-assed attempt on both, you have to choose. Warframe chose PVE, even though there is PVP as well, but clearly PVE is the focus and why people play Warframe to begin with.
Looter game that lacks loot: The grind in Warframe is real, but it's also very rewarding because there are so many options and every gear you acquire feels unique.
Random rolls: The little loot that D2 has on top of everything doesn't feel unique, the static rolls and repetitive archetypes are so limited. It's pathetic when you look at the top most used weapons in D2 and realize they were there since the launch, with exception of Positive Outlook. In Warframe I already mentioned that every gear feels unique and on top of that, they can feel unique even comparing among themselves due to the huge assortment of mods you can equip, which make them feel and play very differently. You could build a weapon that focus on crowd control with status chance, or change the mods on the same weapon and go for raw damage with critical chance/critical damage/damage mods.
Toned down skill trees: It's so laughable that there are only 3 classes and each with 3 subclasses, and in these subclasses there's very little customization. In Warframe there are 34 unique frames with more to come soon. Every single one of them feels and plays very different from each other, they also feature system of mods that can make them even more unique in playstyles.
Nerf train: People complain that their guardians don't feel powerful enough, or that space magic is gone. That's not surprising, whenever some weapon or skill feels slightly better, instead of buffing the other stuff, Bungie nerfs it. In Warframe, you can feel like a god there, which is awesome. They even came up with a system to make less used/popular weapons godlike and pretty much endgame worthy.
Boring story: All the story in D1 was just thrown out of the window, what was canon became folklore and the current replacement is a children's book (quite literally). I'll admit that Warframe started with something less of a story and more of a mess of things piled together, but they took the opposite road from Destiny, they started gathering the bits and pieces of their own universe and oh man... when you get to the Second Dream, it's all worth it. It's one of the best stories I've seen in an online game, I'd never have expected that. It's something beautiful, it has the plot twists done right without being cliche and insulting your intelligence. Very unlike the example we have in D2, I cringe every time I recall Ghaul's speech "We're not so different, you and I" how more cliche could you get than that?
Community Management: Unlike community managers in Destiny just spitting out whatever corporate tells them to and burying their heads in the sand to all we have to say, the folks in DE go beyond their normal duties. They not only listen to players, they act and they deeply care about the game and their player base. They also host twitch streams almost on a weekly basis, promote once a year a live event not unlike comiccon called tennocon, where they can interact face to face with their fans, make big announcements, host several different activities and so on. You could argue that Bungie has the Summit, yes... a closed meeting with only some conveniently invited guests. But come on, I mean, look at the difference already.
All the lies being spoon fed to us: "Look at the mountain over there, you can go there", exp throttling, making 10th better devils exciting, etc... now what does DE do? They respect their players and are often the first to admit they were in the wrong and apologize for it:
https://kotaku.com/warframe-removed-a-microtransaction-because-a-player-us-1824002323
TL, DR: Bungie you need to learn from DE and not only listen to your players, but do what they ask and most important of all, respect them, be honest, be humble towards them and clearly apologize when you make a mistake. Only then, maybe, your player base will start returning to you. And come on, did I mention that Warframe is a free to play game and DE is 8x smaller than you? Please, think about it.

1 ReplyI dunno about 34 unique frames. I’ll give you 33, because Nezha is just Rhino covered in butter

4 RepliesI might have to give Warframe a go once I'm bored with God of War that's about to be released. I don't really have have anything else I want to play since quitting D2 a couple of weeks ago 🤔

8 RepliesTo chime in, Warframe is a F2P game. This means they need to churn out new content constantly to keep players engaged. Paid for model is different and doesnt need to do this. They release content in cycles. Secondly, Warframe is nothing but a grind and is irritatingly boring. The fact that i have to drop my frames to level 1 from max to continue leveling to improve my frame is silly but then Warframe is all about the grind and not much else Warframe recently nerfed 3-4 frames and that pretty much cut the player base. It is stabalising. And for a F2P game 40-50k is still pretty decent. However it also dips into the 30k range too. For all Warframe is doing, its still not as popular as Destiny despite its flaws. Warframes biggest flaw is its grind, but then thats also how they extract money from you. Some will say i never paid a dime and thats fine, but not everyone has 2 weeks to wait for items to be ready either. Simply put both models are different. F2P needs to churn gear out non stop, its a lot harder and even with the contstant updates, Skill up promoting the game vigorously, 30-50k is the best it can do. Warframe isnt the hail mary people are raving it to be. It really isnt. It does somethings right, but yeah, people need to see warframe for what it really is, nothing but a grindfest. if thats your thing, well great, but its not for everyone (yes i play Warframe casually)

Bungie will never learn anything!
-
If only Warframe wasn't still so boring. 😔

One thing that really got me about the dev streams in warframe, is they actually have a dev creating content while the community is watching, the community chimes in while the dev is creating. Pigs would fly if we saw Bungie do this.

4 RepliesBungie learn from no one, including themselves.
-
-blam!-, don't remind me about Ghaul's dialogue. He was so ass its not even funny.

4 RepliesI dislike playing Warframe.

If only Bungie could learn from them. Sucks though, because they don’t learn shit and keep doing the same shit.
