Is there a possibility of "Younger" guardians out there in the wild? By that I mean guardians around the age of, lets say, 12-18. Just a random towerthought
-
What do you think kinderguardians are?
-
Yes thy can as long as they have the light and are ressed by a ghost anyone could be a gaurdian

Edited by Kalcypher: 4/12/2018 4:06:05 PMWho’s to say that your ghost doesn’t create an adult body for their guardian? Or An Exo could of had a child’s conciseness “transfer” into it then resurrected into a guardian, like Cayde-6.
-
Idk it’d be kinda hard to watch a child die and then be resurrected by a ghost? Just a thought as well.
-
We do not know of any but I see how useful they can be. since guardians never age, a child guardian can be the ultimate scout with a easy to hide body type and of course be the best bait for killing fallen/cabal. (they would be like Babette from Skyrim's Dark Brotherhood)

Edited by kris_tunetso: 4/12/2018 4:32:27 PMTheoretically it's possible, but unlikely. current lore (such that it is) seems to indicate humans can be born post-collapse with the capacity to bear the Traveler's light. Shinobu and Shin Malphur are the two we know of that were born normal humans and later became guardians. In Shinobu's case, we know that she was running around with some guardians when one of the ghosts told her she carried Light, but it wasn't until after Shinobu was killed in combat that a ghost resurrected her as a Guardian. We don't know anything about Shin Malphur's transition from human to Guardian. So, I'd say it's possible for there to be child guardians, but I find it unlikely. Mainly because logistics. We're basically zombies. There's nothing to say that if a child were brought back as a guardian, that they would continue to grow into adulthood physically. They might (probably) forever remain a child. This is bad because children don't make great soldiers. Guns are all too big for them, they're not physically fit enough to fight, etc. A Ghost would probably recognize this and only search out suitable adults to rez. EDIT: further, Jaren Ward's ghost is the one who realized that Shin Malphur carried Light, and Shin was just a boy at the time. He grew into adulthood before becoming a Guardian though. At least, that's the common interpretation of that part of the lore. It's not entirely explicit.

NO Where would they store their ghost? As you can see when you are doing the animation for taking your ghost out / away, it clearly goes up your ASS. A child‘s ass cannot store a ghost as they are too big, obviously. So no, children cannot be guardians.

Gotta die first to become a Guardian, most folks in the world prioritize the safety of children over the safety of an adult. So, while I don't see any reason it COULDN'T happen, I do see the reason it would be rather rare. One more thing, most guardians whose origins we know (I'm too lazy to quote anything do this is just my hazy memory) died performing some heroic feat like defending the people or sacrificing themselves to give others time to escape. TLDR: I don't think it's entirely impossible, just highly unlikely.

They already are. They play as hunters.

There are several possibilities, which I have explored in various fanfictions. 1. BLAM-ing Kinderguardians! Young Guardians are chosen by Ghosts as children (dead or alive). They age normally upon selection (and revival if relevant). Very possibly, they undergo specialized training, only entering combat unsupervised upon reaching adulthood. Since they only lose their memories upon initial revival, not subsequent ones, this means they have an essentially normal childhood. Aside from being indestructible. And the fact that a typical school day for them consists of having a story read to them, studying subtraction, and training with autorifles. 2. The Gray Goo Series Children who have exceptional bravery and warrior-like nature who died in the collapse are revived as Guardians. However, since their Ghost is really building a new body for them from available biotic material (their real bodies rotted away centuries ago), no reason not to generate an adult-sized body. Basically, you have a kid in a grown-up's body. With amnesia. Since personality is retained even if memories are not, this could make for a Guardian with some interesting quirks. 3. Neither Only adults can be Guardians. Or, children follow a different path to Guardianhood. Maybe all Last City citizens are lined up at age 18 to be reviewed by whatever Guardianless Ghosts there are, and if a Ghost sees a kid he/she likes, they are selected.

Yes. They cry for nerfs everytime in Crucible.
-
No. But guardians can be children.
-
No most of the child guardians die shortly after they’re brought back because they can’t defend themselves the rest are abducted by the fallen and put in sweatshops
-
There is a finite chance, but not likely.
-
I'd lie to believe so at least somewhere around 17 and up. IT just depends on that magical choosing. Pretty sure Jaren Wards adopted son, was chosen by his Ghost
-
You can’t be seriously asking this?

In order to wield such power, one has to be of age. One has to have a body strong enough to wield it as well This is why Link was held inside the Sacred Realm for 7 years. Although he had the soul of the Hero, he was still too young. In order to use the sword known as “the blade of evil’s bane”, he had to give up 7 years of his life He was basically a child in a young adult’s body. It was because of this, that it is undetermined whether he succeeded in destroying Ganondorf. And so, the timeline splits into 3: Adult timeline Link succeeds in defeating Ganondorf, but he cannot regain the years of his childhood that he lost Child timeline Link succeeds, is sent back in time by Zelda, and prevents the entire events of Ocarina of Time. This leads to the Gerudo-Hylian war and the eventual arrest and botched execution of Ganondorf Downfall timeline Link fails, Ganondorf discards his Gerudo form and becomes the pig demon known as Ganon

Awesome quest idea!!!! The farm needs something badly right now. What if we could get quests from there. Say a woman runs up to you and says that her child is missing and asks for your help in a panic. You follow his footprints into a hive stronghold that he unwittingly walked into and got lost. Once you find him he runs up to you crying afraid that the monsters are gonna eat him. You escort him clearing rooms for him as you go. But just as you reach the exit a huge wave of thrall attack, in the cinematic your guardian is desperately fighting to avoid getting overrun while the child is crouched with his eyes shut crying. Then several thrall spot him and begin running at him. Then they jump towards him to rip him to shreds, time slows down, the child opens his eyes and you see arc energy arcing in his eyelashes (BOOM) in that moment he becomes the youngest stormcaller and with your guardian you finish of the thralls. Upon returning to the farm the mother tells you she knew her son was a guardian and says that several years ago he fell out of a tree and broke his neck and she buried him. Then a couple days later he walked in with a ghost following him covered in dirt and asked “what’s for dinner? I’m hungry”. Thoughts?

I think the real question is can guardians be fat?
-
probably in anime.
-
Yes the were born with there light so therefore they are guardians as baby’s just not fighting evil yet
-
The real question... if guardians do age albiet very slowly, and there could be 12 year old guardians... does that mean that 12 year old guardian would spend decades going through puberty? O.O It's suggested that ghosts choose their guardians, and that only people who could channel the light can be resurrected. I imagine there are certain criteria that ghosts look for when selecting an individual to resurrect, and that criteria would include age and functionality. An 8-12 year old for instance would be utterly useless in combat, and therefore would be more of a hindrance than an asset in the war between the Traveler and the darkness. I would also guess that dna based mutations that had negative impacts (look up harmful mutations) on the individual would also be an excluding factor since I seriously doubt ghosts can rewrite an individual's dna to exclude such factors. If ghosts could simply rewrite dna they wouldn't need to find remains in order to revive a guardian, they could just modify a dna strain or clone it to create multiple guardians.

They’re called Tenno. Lol

Long version:Actually yes there is one case we know of a child being a guardian he may not have known he was but he was one I’m talking about Shin Malphur he was a child that would grow up to kill Dredgen Yor and be the first Gunslinger now the fact that Shin could summon a Golden Gun means he has enough light to be considered a Guardian so there’s no evidence to believe he didn’t have this light as a child Short version: Shin Malphur was a Guardian child because he could summon Golden Gun

I just had this image of little nightstalker hunters running around in the crucible.
