I'm gonna say it right now. This is a LORE forum, so when I ask this, I don't wanna see "well, six random ppl on the internet beat him, so he's pretty weak." Now... if Oryx was suddenly transported to the DC or MARVEL universe, how much of a threat do you think he'd be? Like, who would it take to defeat him? Keep in mind, his ability to Take is seriously OP, and can be used on just about anyone.

Oryx wins. If it has a will then it can be Taken. He takes both the universes in one foul swoop. He is immune to infinity stones in his throne world.

Edited by Dregslayer: 3/4/2018 4:28:15 PMIf he is teleported to dc/marvel universe then he don't be that strong. His power comes from the deep. If who ever came to his throne though oryx most likely would win. His power is pretty much limitless. 6 players only take him down bc one crota was at rest/dies so this already weakens oryx bc he normal gets powers from his sons killing. We also kill him in reality making him weaker in his throne. But also I believe we had the killing logic of killing crota or got some of his strength from absorbing his power in last rites. Not only that we kill enemies leading up to him. Also the light gives us strength too.

1 ReplyKeeping in mind that to only ever truly KILL Oryx one has to become Ascendant and enter his realm, I think Oryx would eventually be able to take over either universe. Reading the Books of Sorrow you saw the Hive would take centuries to conquer and eradicate planets, so it's not like some costumed people with powers would be able to stop him pretty easily. The only way, and I mean ONLY way I could see DC winning is because of Batman. (And not because of Batgod, but because he's Batman.) Think about it, Batman's entire character is when things go down he's immediately investigating. He'd study the Taken, the Hive, he might get a hold of the Books of Sorrow, whatever the case he'd probably find out somehow that they'd need to enter Oryx's realm to defeat him. It would be a case where everyone joins together in an assault to attack Oryx's Throne, and be a pretty cool battle. That is until Oryx starts Taking. It's a bit of a theory/head canon, but the only reason Oryx never Took a Guardian is because of the Light. The ability to Take is powered by the Darkness, and so those filled with Light could have a natural immunity. Oryx may have learned this from past experiences fighting against the forces of "The Sky". So without the Light, I don't see anyone except MAYBE the White Lanterns being able to resist. As much as I love the DC and Marvel characters, I'd have to go with Oryx here. (Also, for those who point out Dr. Manhattan and other reality warpers, I still don't believe they'd be able to ultimately win. But I could be wrong and concede they'd stand a better chance.)

2 RepliesEdited by foxburton99: 2/28/2018 9:43:13 PMI honestly can’t think of anyone in that fight who could beat Oryx because he can Take any organic opponents and even if he gets killed with something powerful he will come back stronger and probably end up stealing whatever power killed him And he’s already god-tier so you’d need guys like Superman, Doctor Fate, and Thanos to face him, but they can be Taken (except in Fate’s case but his host can be killed)
-
1 ReplyI feel as though Vision would be a good opponent considering he isn't technically organic. And Ultron (if he were good) would definitely be a good opponent since he's, obviously, a robot. I don't know too many people from DC that would be good except for maybe Cyborg. But I barely know my DC stuff so...

Very much of a threat, but, the (soul gems, infinity gems, infinity stones) would lead to his abrupt demise

1 ReplyEdited by EARWAK3R: 2/26/2018 9:23:01 PMHe could be solo'd in either universe. Off the top of my head, two op characters that could mess oryx up before he could even make a move: If he goes to DC, Dr Manhatten disintegrates him If he goes to Marvel, franklin richards erases him from reality with a click of his fingers My personal fanboy pick: Tony stark in oryxbuster armor
-
For a time they might be able to kill him.
-
Not very threatening in either universes. Characters in DC that can defeat Oryx: Parallax, Ion, Mogo, The Spectre, Superboy/Superman Prime, Darkseid, The Guardians of the Universe, Mr. Mxyzptlk, Trigon, Eclipso, Raven, The New Gods, and the Entire Green Lantern Corps...just to name a few. Characters in Marvel that can defeat Oryx: Professor X, Shadow King, Phoenix, Apocalypse, Legion, Thanos, Doctor Doom, The Juggernaut, Dorumamu, Doctor Strange, Galactus, Mephisto, and many others.
-
It probably wouldn't be possible, unless you count reality shifters like Franklin Richards, then it takes 10 seconds
-
The Imperium would just build a bigger Death Star ... again.

8 RepliesEdited by Mnkke: 2/26/2018 6:58:59 PMVery few people, maybe the lanterns, would be able to not be taken. Perhaps the green lanturns could revert the Taken effect with willpower. Superman would possibly die to their powerful magic. Darkseid will either allegiance or try to steal Oryxs powers to control other people’s will. Or might be scared as Oryxs power is basically the anti life equation. Green lanterns are basically the best chance imo, for their strong will to stand against Oryx. Thing is, Oryx isn’t from their universe. They have completely no knowledge on him, so I doubt they could kill him. Maybe they could kill the normal version of him but no his Ascendant realm version (the one we face in the raid).

Eclipso, nuff said.
-
The hero be like oh we get this. *Oryx claps* we all dead
-
3 RepliesWellllll I don’t think Tony Stark or anyone in the MU knows how to become ascendant so oryx could probably do as he pleases
-
4 RepliesJust make Oryx watch DC movies repeatedly and he'll kill himself to avoid anymore prolonged torture...lol
-
but batman with prep time tho
-
Destiny 2 flash point anyone? D2 had to be the result of the flash going back in time to save his mom.
-
6 RepliesDoomsday, the comics version not the movie version, would eventually walk through Oryx. Every time he gets killed, he gets reborn immune to that death. So, unless taking doesn’t kill, eventually nothing Oryx will do will phase Doomsday.
-
8 RepliesGiven his ability to take, he could take just about anyone. It's considered magic I think so superman is weak to it, which means there goes DC's trump card. Batman is considered the world's greatest detective so he might discover the way to kill him at least. As for marvel they don't really have godlike heroes aside from vision. So they're -blam!-ed. Maybe Tony or Bruce could discover the weakness but if Oryx takes the hulk theyre all dead.
-
Not much. Oryx is a bad ass in a Destiny Universe where only those touched by the Light or the Darkness have super powers. But in a Marvel Universe where you have beings and entities powerful enough to destroy entire planets and stars.....Oryx wouldnt' make for that impressive a threat. I'd rather have to face Oryx, than someone like Dormammu, Galactus, or the Dark Phoenix.
-
6 RepliesIn his own dimension he would win because the superheroes probably wouldn’t be able to figure out everything without getting wiped off the plane of existence by oryx. In his real form aka the one you fight in the main story, he’d probably lose.
-
13 RepliesSuperman can move so fast, he could pick up oryx and throw him into the sun before he knew what day it was! Iceman from the X-Men could freeze oryx on the spot. Night crawler from the X-Men could teleport oryx high into the sky and watch him drop to earth with a splat! Or into the bottom of the sea where he’d drown! Almost endless possibilities

This isn't a lore forum....

2 RepliesAnt man can go into his ear canal and enlarge so his head explodes
