I think bungie really screwed up with this infusion system, but that's beside the point. Why can't I infuse my 270 helmet in to a 266 helmet and why can't I infuse my 270 shoulders into my 266 shoulders?

I have a situation where I have a 375 item (including +5 mod) and I want to infuse it with a 373 item (unmodded) so I could bring it up to 378 (presumably) This has never been a problem before because the 375 item would be 370 base power so I am at a loss here why I get that "Base Power Too Low" message. What am I missing here? I've previously been able to do this.

Thank you! I was getting so confused

So when is base power not to low when the legendary is level 20 ? im confused, cos i cannot upgrade any of my legendaries, im guessing removing mod wont help either.

I have the same problem but I don’t have any mods on my weapons or armour

11 RepliesBase power to low. All about the mods. If your lower light has a legendary mod on it and your higher light does not, you will not get the 5 point boost that comes with lower light armor. The 270 is actually 265 thus making it too low. Confused the crap out of me for a while. Once you see and understand that part, it makes sense.

It has a +5 mod on it skippy

This confused me too until i realized a mod gave it an extra 5 so it was still lower
-
The comment factor for me is an added purple mod that adds +5. For example: 263 head can't go infuse into a 260 head, if the 263 head has a purple +5 mod on it which pretty much means the helmet is 258 not 263 therefore "Base power too low". Hope I helped

Your helmet has a +5 mod to make it 270, but its base power is 265. So you can't infuse it into your 266 helmet because its base power is lower.

Armor mods. You're 270 probably has a mod that gives +5 power so it counts as 265 when u infuse it
