Now before I go on to talk about this, lemme say one thing. I was a freshman in high school when Destiny 1 came out. So my concept of bad and good in terms of video games was not fully developed yet, but to me it doesn't matter anymore.
Anywho. I can count on one hand the most memorable video games I've completed and played, Some Zelda games, Metroid, Donkey Kong, and some others. But Destiny did it in a way like no other game did. For me being a young chap, I heard about destiny about a year before it's release and I hyped it up so much. And when the game came out, I never once saw any flaws making me want to stop playing. I didn't look at any reviews, and just focused on the cool experience of the game, and boy it delivered.
Now, people loved it, people hated it. But here's the thing. Through Destiny, I met the nicest people in my life and some very close friends that I talk to still today. Idk what other video game can do that, but Destiny made it seem so magical. I was having more fun playing Destiny than actual human interaction.
I was addicted.
I only played Destiny on Fridays and Saturdays,. EVER, doing the school year. But that time adds up quick. Additionally, the only game I cared about was Destiny, so much that I barely played any other game. So now you're probably thinking. HOW DOES THIS MAKE THE GAME GOOD? As it seems like it devoured my life.
And it did.
I made a decision a few months before Rise of Iron to stop playing the game. And THIS is why it's the best game ever made. It showed me how much better people are in Destiny than the real world. Now sure, not every player was good, but the vast majority we're incredible people. It shows how people can truly be happy by helping someone out with a raid, a night fall, or anything else like that.
The Destiny community is better than real life. And a game that make people show that about themselves is a game worth commending.
Thanks Bungie.

This is a work of art and it made me cry. Destiny is the best game ever made and the people that play it are incredible. It attracts such a diverse but beautifully pleasant audience that I loved. I met my best friend on Xbox 360, 2 years before Destiny was released and I can safely say that it only made us better friends. Since then, we have know each other going on 8 years now. Taking a break from Destiny showed me how much WORSE other people can be. You don't get addicted to the game as much as you get addicted to the people who play the game. I will always remember this game as it has a special place in my heart. Thank you for your post, it made my year.
