Is GameStop supposed ask for ID even if you're getting a Teen game?
Went to get a game rated T for Teen and they wouldn't give it to me till I went in my car to get my ID.
I thought it was only for Mature games.

5 RepliesLast summer I went into GameStop to pick up a copy of Destiny for my girlfriends brother. The dude asked to see my ID, so I gladly obliged. He refused to accept my ID because "that is totally fake". I got my license when I was 14, I'm 22 now. I tried reasoning with him and telling him that but he refused to sell me the game. So I went to the other cashier and without asking any questions he sold it to me and sent me on my way. I guess being 21 and having a full beard was enough evidence for the 2nd guy. Flipped the 1st guy off as I left the store and told him to have a shitty day.

4 RepliesI think you should be able to buy games and trade them in at like 14 up. But GameStop has retarded rules like you need to be 18 to trade in games and 17 to get M rated games.

Last I checked, you should only get carded for M rated games. I'm not wholly familiar with Gamestop's policy, but I've been carded for T games.

If you are under the age of buying a game, as long as a legal parent or guardian is there, you can buy it. However a 23 year old cousin will not suffice.

9 RepliesLol. I'm 17 and they told me I couldn't buy Fallout 4 since it's an M game and my parents weren't there to give permission. I turned around and grabbed 60$ in PSN money and bought that instead. The look on that lady's face was priceless.

Happened to me at Walmart with halo wars, I was 16 and they wouldn't let me buy it so I drove home got my dad and had him buy it

30 RepliesIt's supposed to only be for M rated games. I had this happen years ago when I worked at Target. A kid(10 or 12 years old)came up to my register and handed me Quake 2. I rang it up and the register prompted me to check his ID(first time that had happened that week). I knew for a fact that he had none. Told him I couldn't complete the transaction. So he went and got his mother, who came to the register, clearly annoyed at me(like I'm soley responsible for programming the register), and payed for it. And apparently she was annoyed enough that she talked to the store manager. He and I talked about it later that day and I explained what happened. Luckily, after hearing my side, he decided that somewhere, a new policy had been implemented that neither of us had been informed of, so the matter was dropped.

GameStop policy is if you are purchasing a M rated game then you must provide a source of ID. A game that is rated T shouldn't be required but then again I don't work there.
