This is real talk, I am not a child, I am 23 years of age.
Now my question is, can you sue a company for lying to its customers and possibly for false advertisement?
No troll, just an honest question.

1 ReplyIn the new terms of service that you have to accept when you play the game each major update, there is a clause that states class action lawsuits are void against Bungie. You suing Bungie would literally be doing so as an individual. They've covered their entirety on this. Activision has good lawyers that helped Bungie write their ToS on Destiny. You sue Bungie, you do so alone. Suing them for a game that they have full right to change whenever they want to would get you nowhere. When you play the game, you have to accept the ToS to even play. And if you accept it, you lose all rights to sue them. You paid for a disc that has a "license" that allows you to play the game. You didn't buy the game. You bought a game play license. Bungie could literally shut the game down and no one could do anything about it.

I feel like this is a question you should look up on yahoo.
-
Yes you can, Chances are you will lose due to a Technicality, IDK what you are suing for in particular but an example is the FACT that they somewhat Advertised (they were in the Armoryon Bungie.net) 6 new Exotics per class in the TTK, While they are all Technically in the game, Some are currently unobtainable, which is where you would lose the law suit, Just because TECHNICALLY they are in the game

Body of a man, mind of a child. You have 30 days of playtime.. What in the world could you possibly sue over?
-
1 ReplyYou have over 30 days played go ahead and contact a lawyer.
-
Only a child would seriously ask that question. And yes, at 23 years old you are nowhere near grown.
-
I'm sure there are a ton of lawyers who'd take your money... although it would have to be a class action suit due to the fact that you were not singularly affected.
-
If your not a child, why are asking on the company's forum? Why don't you go ask a real lawyer in person or by phone? I'm sure they would give you a legit answer compared to some random forumite

You can sue anyone for anything, it's finding the funds to sue Bungie and finding a law firm to take on a ridiculous case. Good luck
-
You can, but you'll be going at it alone because the thing you sign says you can't go at them with a class action lawsuit.
-
The trolling Bungie fanboys are strong in this thread.
-
I think...
You can.
2 RepliesI agree with most people that there isn't a case; but to all those trying to point out how much a law suit costs, vs. how much you could recover in a lawsuit ... two words for you: class action. You wouldn't sue as an individual, it would be group litigation against bungie by the entire cohort of consumers.

3 RepliesPlease expand. What were the lies and the false advertisement.

1 ReplyWhat did they lie about?
-
It's thin grounds at best. If I were a lawyer, I wouldn't take it.
-
Sure...go ahead.

3 RepliesIt's just a game bro

Me hen you've probably put hundreds of hours into a game, probably not. Also, the most you could sue them for would be the money you spent... Good luck getting a lawyer for that one.

2 RepliesEdited by Infamous067: 3/12/2016 12:27:13 PMNo and thats only because you accepted the terms if agreement on every big update. That button everyone seems to press to immediately start playing but fail to actually read everything it says. You accept their terms so you cant sue. Funny how the world spins right? You want to play the game, you have to press confirm.
-
Yes, but bungie hasn't lied to you so in there case no.

15 RepliesJust quit mate. It would be better if you just went.
