I just beat the game with BoS and I was putting my skills all over the place depending on what I felt I needed at that time. I'm planning another character that will focus heavily on stealth and melee (so I guess strength and agility).
What builds have you enjoyed using the most? I might end up trying out a few since I want to play through every faction.

Ninja entrepreneur.

1 ReplyMy builds are always heavy on stealth. High agility, stealth-related perks, and Rifleman with a suppressed bolt gun with a max upgraded Deliverer as backup. Aside from that, I sink my perks into heavy guns for when I need to go on a power armor-fueled killing spree.

Step 1: name your character Grognak. Wadsworth *will* call you "Mr Grognak." Step 2: use only melee weapons. Start with security batons from the vault, then get a swatter or bladed tire iron. Step 3: get to hubris comics as quickly as you can. Get grognak ' s axe (I call it the Grognaxe) and Grognak's costume. Step 4: ??? Step 5: profit Use whatever armor you want for arms and legs, I never wear a helmet so that I look like Grognak with blonde long hair. Grognaxe and Grognak's costume are the only items you'll ever need, everything else is gravy. This play through style is only for true barbarians, it is extremely difficult

The most fun is melee (fun, not efficent) I use a sword and when your in 3rd person and sprint at the enemy and attack you do a spin and can sometimes decapitate then which is SUPER FUCKING FUNNY!!!

Edited by Majin_Buddha_: 12/13/2015 12:20:16 PMI thoroughly enjoyed idiot savant melee. I did that with stealth. I'm attempting now to do an idiot savant max intelligence character, as having max intelligence makes it proc maybe ten percent less, from what I've read.

Edited by Enter Name Here: 12/13/2015 11:55:41 AMIn Bethesda games I'm always a really high damage resistance, high damage output weapons master. The perks I went for first were the ones that improve the various weapons ballistic damage and the ones the improve your weapons and armours perks and attachments

Well the first character(in any Bethesda game) is normally a test character. Helps me to understand the dynamics of the game and to help me learn about all the various features. The second character is the more focused. My character is a former US Army Ranger, so she is skilled in the use of ranged and CQ weapons. She is also skilled in stealth tactics, and favors Light Armor. She is trained in the use of Power Armor and heavy munitions, so if the odds are stacked against her, she has no qualms in taking the gloves off, and letting her foes know she is no push over. Because of her skills in ranged weapons, particullarly Sniper Rifles, her Perception high. Her Stength is pretty high, having had to carry a wounded Private on her shoulders during her time in the Army. She has pretty high Endurance, having been wounded in several places and still was able to lead her men in a counter-attack.

The double damage legendary gauss rifle I found. Does 1000+ base damage with all the right perks to any enemy with full health. So yeah basically there is nothing in the game that survives one shot. Broken as hell but -blam!- it

2 RepliesOk so I personally get really immersed into the game, and build who my character is and how he makes his decisions in the world. I started with a male character who was an Engineer in the army, so he had high intelligence and high endurance. He naturally fell in line with the Brotherhood of steel, despite not agreeing with some of their ideals. As well he felt inquisitive about the Institute, and there promise of a brighter future for mankind. But in the end after having spent so much time with the brotherhood, and his companion being Cait, who hates synths, felt pressured into following orders. After watching the institute's destruction he felt uneasy about his decision. So with this same character I reverted 5 hours of gameplay so that I could side with the institute, and immediately realized that they were the best choice for this character. He betrayed the brotherhood and set in motion actions that will forever change the institute. This character is my favorite, but after having reverted I lack the ammo stores and Fusion core stockpile I had accumulated in the brotherhood. He uses a medley of single fire weapons, and wears X-01 power armor. I call him the Director. My second character was a United States Army Special Forces member. He has a deep love for his wife and deep sense of doing the right thing for the common man. He valiantly leads the Minutemen, and does work for the Railroad to protect Synths. He still carries his wife's ring as well as wearing his own, and has no intention to seek love again. This is a sneak character that carries Deliverer, an Assassin's Hunting Rifle, and Pickman's Knife. He wears the Armored postman outfit, and a Gasmask/goggles. The funnest part of this character is seeing the shit I can get away with and feeling like a secret agent. I call him the Mailman. My final character doesn't have much of a story, he's just a straight up sociopath and cannibal. He is a melee character who travels with strong and kills everyone. I call him the raider and he is a total blast to play.

Melee build
-
I would use a well-balanced class build of stealth and strength, along with good charisma for persuasion.
-
It's all about abusing jet and psychobuff whilst going nuts with a machete
-
Stealth as per usual. Also... Ironsides did 9/11. http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/l%20Sir%20Prise%20l/video/13186696
-
High perception and charisma. It's my "ah nu cheeki breeki iv damke" build. I have 191 mods installed that pretty much put it on par with the stalker series highest difficulty.
-
Edited by PirateZack: 12/11/2015 2:54:20 AMI prefer the "I don't know what I'm doing so I put perks in whatever sounds good at the moment" build. It allows me to go through life blissfully unaware of any true potential.
-
Charisma 100%. Fits my name "Charmer" at the Railroad too.
-
1. Max perception right from the beginning 2. Find/craft a .50 cal sniper 3. Obtain Sniper perk from perception tree (8th down) 4. Profit??????
-
I went guns blazing with the BoS and it was a fun first run but my second character went all stealth with the Railroad and I'm loving it. All you need is the Deliverer, comes from the first Railroad quest, and max out sneak, mister sandman, and ninja for sure. I use melee here and there, but mainly a silenced weapon.

1 ReplyStealth is pretty much always the way I go with RPGs. I'm going to try a full charisma built for my next character.
