I want to know what a skilled kd, and average kd and below average kd is. Also, if you could please site any sources or state that it's your option please.
Edit 1:
From what I read on destiny tracker is that 2.0 is in the top 1%.

66 RepliesThis is a loaded question that will be based on peoples personal opinions and not facts. So prepare yourself for numbers all over the place. There are 3 major problems that jade the database that need to be considered when using the actual database numbers to gain average player base. 1st are Cheaters and bad internet. How many times have we seen bungie report that they banned 12,000, 15,000 or I saw once weekend they banned 30,000 players for cheating. So how many of those unfair cheated games are still in the database? also how many players are out there cheating still that have never been caught? As for bad internet. It is very common, some players feel almost invincible when they have crap connections while others seem weaker. Unfortunately we will never know the real number of false k/d's out there due to bad internet. 2nd are game types played and simply doing gunsmith missions and game quests. All of these can contribute to players playing out of their comfort zones and playing with weapons they would not normally use. Can and does jade the overall k/d ratios. Also is K/D the important number? Is the person that averages more points per game more valuable? The one that captures more zones or relics, is that person more valuable? 3rd is the databases themselves. Right now there are only 2 databases that are open to us to explore that track crucible game play. Destiny Tracker is the most common. The problem with them is that they do not track everyone. Their database only hosts players with over 50 games in Crucible. They also do not track anyone with less than a .10 k/d. They also try to push their preferred rating system over k/d and their DB is clunky and time consuming to compile any relevant stats. The other is a new database called Guardian.gg. They only track crucible and only show you numbers based on their proprietary scoring system called ELO. They have only been tracking since the launch of TTK and are hard to do any real DB diving. So for these, real world numbers I am using Destiny Tracker. DT hosts 2,065,682 players in their database. I find that number hard to believe when Guardian claims 5,200,000 people have played crucible since TTK was launched. But yet DT is claiming that only 2 mil. out of the 30+ mil. (Bungie claims), have played 50 plus games in the total 15 months of the game? If this is true then the sad reality is that only 6.7% of all players, play crucible... On to the numbers Total players are all systems combined. Only players with 50+ crucible games and are over .10 K/D are counted. The numbers are k/d number and above that number. Example: Total players with a k/d of 1.00 is players with 1.00 and higher k/d. Total players with a 2.0 k/d and higher = 15,384 Total players with a k/d of 1.5 = 124,619 Total players with a k/d of 1.25 = 366,013 Total players with a k/d of 1.20 = 447,957 Total players with a k/d of 1.15 = 545,628 Total players with a k/d of 1.10 = 658,827 Total players with a k/d of 1.00 = 929,470 Total players with a k/d of .90 = 1,236,280 Total players with a k/d of .80 = 1,530,399 Total players with a k/d of .70 = 1,764,712 So take these numbers and consider what is important to you. Is the DT database number of 2 mil. relevant? or would it be more relevant know total number of players that have played 1, 5 or 10 or more games? From these numbers the k/d of .96 to .97 is average. The middle 50% of the player base is between .75 k/d and 1.15 k/d. Top 25% is above 1.15 k/d Bottom 25% is below .75 k/d Top 1% is 1.95 k/d and up.

If suicides don't count, then the average KD is 1. If suicides count, then the average KD is less than one. You can trust me. I passed 3rd grade math class with flying colors.

I'm not sure how factually correct Destiny's tracker is. The sheer fact that a 1.00 is that 50% is questionable. That would be the most amazingly random thing ever. Last year I remember a report on the average being .7 something. Just watching the average game that seems a little bit more likely.

Weak if less than 1.0 Average 1.0 to 1.4 Above average 1.5 to 1.9 2.0 and up is really good
-
Warlock is 0.9 but he's my oldest character and took the brunt of the ass kicking learning curve. My hunter is my best but just 1.1
-
1.0 Average 2.0 + Skilled
-
I'd say anything above 1 is probably above average. I've never cared for my crucible K/D. The only stats that have ever mattered to me are my BF4 stats.
-
Actually if you think about it the average k/d is slightly below 1.0 on account of suicides. What is the mean k/d though... That would be interesting information.

I'm decent at pvp, but i share an account with my little brother who is absolutly terrible and averages like a 0.25 k/d everygame. So it really sucks when ppl kick me when they see my about average k/d
