Were visigoths and vikings the same thing?
Title says it all, because I don't know the difference between the two.

Visigoths got shut out, given the ultimate FU, and subtle execution by Rome by being forced to fight in the front lines for Rome's army while being held at the border permanently. Eventually they snapped and beat the living -blam!- out of Rome for the sheer brutality and apathy they showed the them. (TL;DR version of the Visigoths.)

Vikings were raiders from Norway and Sweden mainly, some from northern Denmark. Vikings founded Dublin, found Greenland and North America, they raided in England and France a lot also. Visi Goths were a germanic tribe that were total barbarians and were able to tear Rome apart.

All I know is that Vikings were Norse (Scandinavian) explorers, warriors, merchants, and pirates who raided and colonized wide areas of Europe from the late eighth to the early eleventh century.
