Pulse rifles are fine for the most part. Their minimum ttk is not achievable on every kill because of their firing mechanics, particularly the higher impact ones.
As long as there is no more archetypes like the messenger and hopscotch pilgrim, the crucible should be fine. Now I haven't looked into nirwens mercy but if it is an outlier then that gun needs to be addressed, not the whole class of weapon. That's how we keep getting into these messes, with ham handed broad stroke changes that only balance the strongest in the class (maybe) and make everything else garbage.

I can only laugh when I hear the crucible referred to as being balanced. I've honestly lost hope at this point and feel like it's permanently dysfunctional mainly due to Bungie's heavy handed retooling.
-
I know. If you think about it, what would have happened if Bungie had simply buffed Hand Cannons, instead of nerfing Auto Rifles so hard?
-
You mean way back when? Things would probably be a lot better. Maybe just a tiny adjustment to ARs was needed if that.
-
Exactly. Instead we have this vocal minority that thinks heavy handed nerfing is the answer, when it's not. Then the little hypocrites gripe when people move to an actual, usable gun.

Hand cannons especially. I'll never understand why they did what they did. I will say the range on some was crazy but they completely obliterated the weapon. Using them at range wasn't easy either with the exception of maybe Thorn and Hawkmoon.
