1 ReplyWH40K easy, overkill doesn't exist in that universe. Space Marines have space magic as well as in psykers etc etc, dreadnoughts, terminators.... Gaurdians can keep coming back, but tbh they would get hit by a hail of bolter rounds the second they spawn, I don't think space marines would have an issue with spawn camping :-p

6 RepliesGuardians, for the sole fact that they don't stay dead. Space marines will continue to dwindle in numbers, while the vast majority of guardians will just be revived seconds later time and time again. If not for the near immortality, it would be the space marines tho with space magic taken into account it would be a somewhat close fight, with the marines coming through with a decently high but not extensive lead.

5 RepliesWhile Guardians are strong and can be revived, they wouldn't last long against Space Marines. A Space Marine Librarian is described as being able to generate force fields and blasts of energy, so one of them covers Warlock and Titan abilities. The whole Guardian revival thing is dependent on Ghosts. We come across dead Guardians in the game that we can't revive, it's implied our individual ghost has to be working to revive us. Once this was noticed, they would be the primary target. We know the ghosts aren't made for combat, it asks us to cover and fight for it every couple level. When comparing vehicles, it's very lopsided. Guardians only have Sparrows and Jump Ships (the other two useable vehicles are Fallen and Cabal). While the ships look armed, we don't know if they are and what they could be armed with. The Space Marines have various tanks, bikes and massive space ships. Now both sides have a motionless near omnipotent figure they rely on for protection. Both were critically injured in a massive battle. Compare them in their current states after being injured. The Traveler floats over Earth, protecting the last city of Humanity while somehow the Speaker interprets his will. The Emperor sleeps on his life sustaining throne while his mind fights the Chaos Gods holding them off while directing the massive Imperium. While I enjoy playing a Guardian here and play an Ork army in 40k. I have trouble seeing how a fight between Guardians and Space Marines can end well for the Guardians.

21 RepliesThing is though, in Destiny, Dinklebot is there to revive the players. I know what space marines are, although, i never really got into warhammer. Still, with the unlimited lives from the destiny guardians and with some guardians being on their own level of OP, probably the destiny guardians.

2 RepliesEdited by Raider TCK: 2/15/2015 9:25:07 PMDepends. In a straight up fight the legions would crush the guardians. Get supers involved it gets a bit more complicated. Of course the marines have phsykers who have similar abilities, however they are in the minority and every guardian has access to a super. However the marines primary weapon, the bolter, is basically a LMG that fires armour piercing rounds that explode inside someone's body. Bungie nerfs all the guardians good weapons.
