If I had to guess, I presume it is something laying beneath Titan. Your ghost does a scan during s mission and says he can sense the presence of something on a "very VERY big" scale below the surface of Titan. I presume, with how destiny 2 ends. That presence below awakens.

1 ReplyI think Leviathan is a warmind, personally. Maybe leviathan could be a warmind that the cabal have hijacked, and used to attack the guardians. The full, unhinged power of a warmind is something we have yet to see in Destiny, and would be really cool.

3 RepliesIf you notice, the cabal like to use the names of Ancient Roman armies, and mythology. So the leviathan is probably Gual's flagship where you would fight the Consul and Ghual to try and save either the Traveler from being taken to the cabal homeworld, or save the solar system from the sun destroying weapon.

It was a disciple of the Traveler, and aided in imprisoning the five Worm Gods within the planet's core.[1] When the proto-Hive sisters Xi Ro, Sathona, and Aurash dove into Fundament's depths in search of a secret that would prevent the Syzygy, an alignment of the gas giant's fifty-two moons that would create a global tidal wave of catastrophic proportions, the Leviathan met them. Communicating with magnetic fields, it attempted to persuade them to return to the surface and follow the way of the Traveler and the Light, warning them against the seduction of the Deep, but the sisters rejected its pleas because it offered no way to end their species' suffering and avert the Syzygy.[2] Later, after the sisters had made a pact with the Worms, becoming the Hive and ravaging Fundament, the Leviathan tried to escape the planet's surface and take shelter with the Ammonites of Fundament's moons. The Ammonites sent their best forces to protect the Leviathan, whom they revered almost as much as the Traveler, but the Hive saw this as an opportunity.[3] In one fell swoop, the Hive slew the Leviathan and destroyed the Ammonite civilization, forcing the Traveler to flee for its safety. The Leviathan's corpse was fed to the Worm Gods Eir and Yul.[4]

I once founded a clan with that name in it. It's a mythological creature, a dragon of some sort. The name is also used in another game, Conduit.

It's Oryx's Dreadnaught repainted in Cabal colors and flags so Bungie can reuse old content. In fact the "new" raid is essentially running King's Fall backwards! [spoiler]I'm joking but if this was true...LOL. [/spoiler]
