Need help to find security override in halo on pc
I have read several walkthru's and they all say to go to the dead end room, find the console and hit 'X" to override the security. I cannot find any console in that dead end room. THe guides say 'X" is the default - 'E' is sthe default on my PC. How can I get through that door! I have killed everything on theisland and everything leads me back to the door and the security override.

You could always approach the panel, and press the button that it tells you to press...... "Press _____ to activate security override" ...or whatever the hell it says.

It is the dead end room in the Silent Cartographer room. I see the wall on the left side that looks like an electronic display. I hit E which is my action key and nothing happens. The guides say to hit X the default - this just exchanges weapons for my default. I am playing the single user game not the multiplayer version.

The only level with a "Security Override" is Silent Cartographer. I can tell you exactly how to do it. 1: Enter the installation bypassing the main route to the map room, instead, go around the island until you find a path up into it. Th path should be partially conceled by a tree. Need more? Its the area with the large congregation of Jackals nearby. Resistance will be hard, including dozens of grunts and jackals, and of course, the occasional Elite and two hunters. Your jorney should bring you to an installation based upon a cliff. Now, upon entering, two hunters should attempt to kill you (as if). Fight your way down until you find a room with a Glowing blue panel (similar to the one in level2: HALO that activates the bridge). Cortana should say "This isnt the control room..." Press the panel and Viola, the door wil be opened (Or unable to lock[Enabling a bypass of a few enemies]) If you still need help, then I am afraid that your helpless and therefore suitable only as Cannon Fodder. I take it your talkiing about the Silent Cartographer level? Well this is easy. Just head all the way to the back of the hall after you fight the Hunters. The room is a dead end unless falling to your death is your thing. In the center of the platform is a panel. All you have to do is activate it. Than the security door from before unlocks, and the real hard part starts.
