•
Posted by: FlyingLion
Posted by: manwithWell, how can Master Chief be a Hyper Lethal Vector if he has a problem taking down 1 Elite without the help of others or Cortana?
Because the books are horse-blam!- in terms of battles. It wouldn't be interesting to read "And John encountered an Elite, so he jumps over its head and punched him in the back once, instantly killing it." so they turn it into a struggle. He takes down hundreds of Elites without the help of others. The fights in the books are fanservice, nothing more.
I have never seen him taking a fight against the Covenant alone without help or Cortana. Not once.

MC is 'Hyper Lethal' aswell.
It's never been stated that MC is hyper lethal.
Oh, but it has. If you re-watch the trailer in which Halsey is talking over it, she states that Noble 6 is hyper lethal, and 'only one other spartan has that rating'. I guess not directly stating it, but it's such a huge assumption, it might as well smack you in the face. [Edited on 11.18.2010 1:16 AM PST]

    • Vector, in this case, points to disease. It means that N6, when alone, can be dropped in a hostile location, where he'll kill everyone like a plague.

And vector in this context refers to a delivering method. As a mosquito is a vector for Malaria, Noble 6 and MC are vectors of death as it 'twere. So a Hyper Lethal Vector is more a classification of their skill, Hyper Lethal obviously being the best. However, because the challenge link to it for Firefight is headshots, I was under the impression it referred to the lethality of a headshot, and thus the direction the bullet flies to achieve a headshot is known as a vector :p

    • ya know how master chief could walk onto a battle field of covies? -blam!-, slaughter, and not die? That would be "Hyper Lethal Vector"

    • Play the games and you will. All the time. Cortana doesn't control his body, thoughts, or actions. When he's fighting, it's unreasonable to say that any and all kills he gets while Cortana is present are credited strictly to their teamwork, and only made possible by her presence.

    • Let's say Noble 6 is a person that can possibly obliterate an entire Covenant ship on his/her own.

It doesn't have much relevance now that they're 40+. And people sure love to act as though luck is a measurable statistic. As if it's fact that one person is luckier than another, and you can officially rank them on it. In all honesty, you should take the whole "Master Chief is the luckiest spartan ever!" thing with a grain of salt.
Well, how can Master Chief be a Hyper Lethal Vector if he has a problem taking down 1 Elite without the help of others or Cortana?

While she certainly kills plenty, snipers dont kill en masse, they kill key targets. I'm willing to bet MC has been responsible for more covie deaths than any other spartan.

        • No it hasn't been stated that MC is hyper lethal... but it is implied. The part in the game where it says "...there has been only one other spartan with that rating..." Who else would it be referring to? Now I know it COULD be someone else, but in all probability it sounds like our beloved MC.

        • In absolute basics? Six is so badass, he can take out an entire asteroid belt, with only an Assualt Rifle and 2 grenades. That's what a hyper lethal vector is.

        • It means that instead of being classified as a regular spartan, they classify under a hyper-lethal vector, which means they are an extremely(hyper) dangerous(lethal) ummm... object(vector). Someone please correct me on the vector part.

        • A classification within the UNSC as to how lethal and efficient a person or unit within their ranks is, I believe. That's the only logical answer anyway. [Edited on 11.18.2010 12:37 AM PST]
