Xur Dialogue
What mysteries and hints does our friendly Agent of the Nine have...?
(Yes, I stood there for 20 minutes, cataloguing his dialogue.)
I don't have it all, as some of Xur's dialogue seems dependant on class and race.

"You have fought everything else that entered this realm. Will you fight a planet?"
"The Nine's Eye is still watching."
"I am here for a reason... I just... cannot remember it..."
"They want to know about you... It is an honor."
"I come bearing help."
"If you are here, it means the Nine are not done with you yet..."
"What happens when every cell is dead...?"
"To do what you say, is to speak in a language of pure meaning."

I think what xur forgot to tell us is that he wants to beef fusion rifles

1 ReplyXur, I think, is jovian (the first of the awoken that were transformed into a superior race) so whatever transformation he went through, it must have caused some memory loss. You can also notice the weird tentacles on his face which may also be related to the transformation. Either that or the Nine, who we meet in the third spire after winning a match in trials of the nine, may have left a mark on him due to the nine being ghost like beings.

I actually really like Xur as a character. Even though hes just a vendor I want to know more about him. The way he talks kind of makes me sympathize with him. Hes confused and has no idea what hes doing or why, only that he has to. Id love to have some story mission or something about him. Make him more than just a vendor.

4 RepliesHe speaks of a forest door opening. One of the items you can investigate on Nessus says the vex speak of an endless forest. I wonder if this is foreshadowing of an upcoming even or DLC.

Man Xur got me interested in the lore back in vanilla. "there fly no birds where I come from, only shadows." Just read some book of sorrows back and I'm not gonna lie.. people who don't give a shit about lore aren't even playing the same game. And that's fine and all to each his own.. but I can highly recommend checking the LT/L2 BUTTON in your ingame inventory. lot's of good lore on exotics and even Legendaries. The exotic fusion rifle Merciless in particular got me to mute the party clan chat.. and just immerse for a while.

I like that they updated his look, and gave him new lines.. I always felt bad for him, since its clear that he is abused by the nine.. they somehow seem to move his mind into other bodies, which explains his comment of "The cells in this body are dying already..." and why he seems so stiff and twitchy, as well as why his mind is so foggy.. Kind of like an exo in a way, just he is put into a living body that doesnt sustain him for long.

When I saw him for the first time in destiny 2 he said, "Your light is brighter now, I can see it." Or something like that. I'm not 100% sure that's what he said because I was in a hurry to get my hands on that fusion rifle lol

Just like the first game, he has lines referencing the cells in one's body, their origins and how much autonomy they have. Whatever the Nine are, maybe they have control over themselves and their surroundings on an atomic level? Kind of like Dr. Manhattan
