To link your gamertag to your bungie.net profile, you must use the Windows Live account associated with your gamertag.
I'd recommend checking to make sure you're entering your email correctly, or using the correct email account.

Are you sure the email associated with the gamertag is correct (i.e. typo-free)? I was in a situation a few years ago where I had entered the email to be associated with the account incorrectly, and that affected my ability to log in to sites using that email.

Ok I fixed it, turns out I wasn't using the right one I figured thank you for the help.
