When someone buys someone else a drink at a bar, is anything owed to them?
A common occurrence: Drunk guy buys sober girl a drink at the bar. He tries to flirt with her, is shut down quickly, she goes back to her table and laughs with her friends at the drunk guy.
When you guys start going to bars, this WILL happen to you. It happens to everyone.
Now, the drunk guy saw this as making an investment. Was he owed anything in return?
My view:
She didn't ask for the drink, and therefor owes him nothing in return.
I'd say a "thank you" would be nice, at least.
