Personally, I traded in my Limited Edition copy of Halo 4 to go towards preordering Destiny.
In my eyes, it was the best way for me to tell 343 how I feel, and that the game that they made just isn't a Halo game. I tried to like Halo 4. I really, really wanted to like Halo 4. But it's just missing that magick, that care that Bungie put into every Halo game that they released. It's missing the care that goes into creating a great game, and not just a game that will deliver massive profits.
I know there's people who will say that I'm just bitching to bitch. That I just can't be pleased no matter what 343 does. And those people are entitled to their opinions.
Will it matter in the end? No. 343 already got my money when I bought the game. 343 has proven many times over that they're going to do what they want to do with Halo, regardless of what their fanbase thinks.
But I have principles, and it is the principle of the matter that swayed my actions.
I traded in Halo 4 as my little way of protest that the games that 343 are making are not Halo games, and a statement that they don't know (and possibly never will know) what made Halo... Halo. It may say Halo on the game case, but that's not a Halo game inside. it's a cheaply made rip off.
But acting the way I did got me thinking.
I'm fired up about Destiny in ways that I haven't been since I heard about Reach's announcement, or Skyrim's announcement. Bungie will be back at the helm of my Xbox, and I am happy to freely hand them all of my free time.
It also got me thinking about what did the rest of the Seventh Column trade in/give up (if anything) to make sure that they could reserve their Destiny?

Eeeh, nothing... I have moneyz

Depends on what I have sitting around, really over the last 10 years I've only kept Halo games. And I'll continue to keep them, even H4. So I'll probably trade in the first Assassins Creed, Battle of Midway, Fable 3 and MAYBE one if not both Batman's. It wont be much, but I'll be doing it more to clean up my collection than for the money. Otherwise, as long as I can keep myself from throwing my cash away at Jurassic Park for iPad, I should be able to fit Destiny into my gaming budget.

I didn't give anything up, but I'm going to use most of my money to pre-order it and save for any DLC, which is a monetary sacrifice.

1 ответHow do you make a thread about Destiny and still manage to rant about Halo 4 for the majority of your post?
-
Ya I was also disappointed by Halo 4, the storyline was weak. They talked up adding narrative to the multiplayer, but Infinity just didn't do what they hoped it would. I was happy to see ordinance drops and the capability to pick out your starting weapon, but everything else just seemed cheap. Not to mention it is basically impossible to play forge maps online with a split screen, which is a shame.

I'd give up League of Legends, which is the current suck on my social life. Honestly I'm just playing it to pass the year until Destiny release. ;( My gaming library has sadly dwindled significantly. Most days I just have to choose between Guild Wars 2, Minecraft, and LoL. Sad choices considering how bored of them I am.

Yeah I about to lose some points from the lady once Destiny comes out..

2 отв.Nothing. I'm against preordering even if it's Bungie.
-
2 отв.I haven't preordered, so there's that. But if I were to preorder, I wouldn't have to give something up. I have a big boy job and disposable income. Get a job ya' hippie!

i gave up 5 bucks to pre-order it :-)
