Bungie needs to ban everything that can even be considered cheating.
I'm for overdoing it at this point. If you didn't cheat, appeal the ban and get reinstated. Plain and simple.

I get accused of cheating a good bit of the time, so no, thank you. I'd rather not have my account banned because some noob doesn't understand how to play

That's a thing that's all well and fine to say, but like, if it happens to you, do you want your account to be in the hands of a dev that gets to be judge, jury, and executioner over your case? There's a reason that anticheat has a higher focus on not hitting false positives as opposed to false negatives. If someone gets banned falsely it's up to human judgement (as well as willingness to even look at the case) for the problem to get solved, and someone who gets banned falsely is not a player who is likely to come back.

I wouldn't care because I'm not a cheater. What do I have to hide. So it takes them a day to let me play pvp again, big deal. If players get matches against cheaters then it's most likely they will leave and never come back either. So id rather them really hammer down on all forms of cheating. At the end of the day, if you don't cheat, you're good

Generally that's not what happens when devs start "overdoing it" If they started acting the way you want them to I guarantee you that you will start seeing a lot of players who never cheated get banned, and never get their accounts back.
