I stand by the idea that Nimbus should’ve been the one to Die
This isn’t because I hate the character (even though I do)
How interesting would it be to see Rohan having to cope with the person he was training Die, along with his own life coming to end in the next couple of years. It would have been such an interesting story line and premise, and would have set Rohan up to be a reoccurring character that people might have actually liked.
And it would also put a bit of respect on Nimbus’s name. Rohan dying just felt to safe narratively. At least give us some consequence.
Edit: I should preface this all by saying they are a really annoying character. They seemingly don’t have any emotional reaction to Rohans passing outside of a [u]singular[/u] post campaign mission. They aren’t angry or vengeful enough to genuinely feel like the event shaped their character. There is no difference between Nimbus from the beginning of the story to the end of the story. They have no character arc. Their identification and anything of the sorts does not matter or mean anything to me.

For those newer players unfamiliar, those 5 destinations I just listed above were all deleted from the game. People paid good money for that stuff and now it's gone. Think about that the next time you decide to buy anything from Bungie.

Pretty much since the release of Lightfall... This is nothing you or anyone needs to defend, its basic sound human instinct at this point. Bordering on the point of total objective morality. Nimbus should have died a grotesque violent death within 30 seconds of being introduced.

2 отв.I'm so glad cloudstriders only live for ten years. I'd be distraught if Nimbus has the potential to outlive a Chihuahua. Still, ten years is a bit long. Maybe the life expectancy of a fruit fly would have been better...

12 отв.I agree - the idea of the clock ticking for Rohan while he tries to find a replacement before the Cloudstriders die out is a much more compelling storyline. And people would then do that thing where they remember Numbnuts with 'nostalgia glasses' fondness rather than just thinking of him like a piece of grit you just accidentally rubbed into your eye.

I totally agree... it could've played out like this... Guardian " oh no... nimbus got way too close to that sticky thermal grenade that I 'Accidentally' threw at him. " Ghost " get his core... we'll need it " Guardian " here it is..." Ghost "Now CRUSH it..."

Fully agree. Rohan was the far better character and Nimbus is like the NPC version of nails on a chalkboard.

1 ответRohan was a mentor role model for nimbus and also older. It's natural that he makes the sacrifice and passes the torch to nimbus whilst being a role model for him

Technically neither should have had to die. Both were immune to the light suppressing tech and given they have the physical ability to bust through 10 feet of reinforced cabal fortifications. There is no reason why they should have listened to Osiris. They should have just busted through the ship walls and wiped calus. Or been smart and used nano bots to infect and destroy the cabal Invaders just like Rasputin did with siva and the iron lords.

Yep. Rohan was awesome. I would’ve probably visited Neomuna a lot more if Rohan was the NPC.
