Why does Bungie find a person’s real name offensive?
I found out a guy I am friends with had his Bungie name changed because it was offensive? How is a person’s birth name considered offensive? Is this some kind of a pathetic joke. I find Bungie offensive so that name needs to be changed. Can people with psychological issues make claims against someone and Bungie automatically takes their side and doesn’t investigate/question people about how they came up with their name.
It wasn’t my Bungie name that was changed but I’m appalled that Bungie changed the guys name. What’s next, are they going to force people to go to a court and have their birth name changed?
Bungie needs to go after the real Bunghole name that are actually offensive and not attack people using their birth name.

Well I don't understand that if their coding allows us to put a name in and use it then I don't believe we should get banned or even our name changed because ur coding allowed us to use the name so why not just let us have the name we created if someone gets butt hurt over a name then the soft as baby -blam!- anyways. U wanna ban or change someone's name when ur system allowed us to put it in and use it but not one of these companies does anything with the cheating modding no skill having -blam!- players but ur gonna ban someone for a name... Ive come up with sum creative names yes explicit names but creative and ain't that what Xbox and PSN say when creating a name be unique and be creative but then u ban me for being creative. It's not my fault that kids are playing online games they shouldnt be. I shouldn't be penalized

8 отв.There is no way this company being the activists they are for certain “types” of people but not “inclusive” enough to accept a REAL, name. Especially when some of the staffs real name is their user ID.

4 отв.I’m sometimes confused myself. Wiener used to be a name for a type of food. Now it’s an organ, that some people eat. Life is full of surprises sometimes. What’s really funny is that you know this company is completely broken when even their software for moderation that has nothing to do with the game is also broken.🤣🤣🤣 I mean, their talentless staff are probably not doing anything except cleaning cars at headquarters. 🤣🤣🤣 This company is toast! Absolutely nothing here but a shamble mess of shallowness!

8 отв.it is not that it is offensive, it is meant to be a protective measure. Using PII as a user name (personally identifiable information) is an extremely risking thing to do in general. It also has the potential for harassment. they cover what is and is not allowed in the Bungie name policy with brief descriptions. That said, keep in mind they are investigating a situation with some unintended name changes as well

Crazy that Pete Parsons will need to change his in-game name since his actual last name is in his Bungie username.

I have never found any of the names I've seen offensive. If anything, I have applauded their creativity and found some to make me chuckle.

Was your friends name changed because it was offensive or are you asking if it was? If you are not asking but stating that your friends name was changed due it being offensive, how did your friend find out that was the reason? How is their birth name considered offensive? Is It? First you need to elaborate what the reason for the name change was before you can ask how is their birth name offensive. If it was a bug that has changed many other players names then the reasoning that it changed because it was deemed offensive sounds like your friend or you made that up.
