There is no way to physically earn them in game at the moment, and a lot of them are meta in the endgame content. People take breaks from the game. FOMO is real in the game and it sucks. You shouldn’t be punished for having a life and taking a break. This change is good but there needs to be another way to earn the harmonizers other than just the pass, just like the exotic ciphers from xur.

I'm sorry. But you can't claim fomo on everything. Sure anyone has the right to take a break. However you can't blame the game or the company behind it for missing out on something when the break was still your choice. Even if it was necessitated by a life event. Players need to hold themselves accountable and stop using fomo as a cancel -blam!- excuse. That said. I can agree on some way to earn then without it being behind a pass wall. Even if it's extra grindy or in game currency expensive.

That’s the whole point. Allowing them to be earned through a different method. People that miss a season or 2 should be able to come back and be able to earn those weapons in some way shape or form, not be given them outright obviously. Those meta weapons are defining in the sandbox. FOMO is a thing in this game and it always will be unless steps are taken to reduce it. This is one step in the right direction but more of a money grab than anything.

We agree on everything but your last 2 sentences. They make you sound like you want things for free and with little effort. "Fomo" and "money grab" are things that many of the community use out of ignorance and frustration. I'm not saying they don't exist but they are largely exaggerated by people who don't understand the business (and that it is actually a business) Just saying.
