Ah yes, all the SBMM supporters calling people bad when you needed SBMM to shield you from facing better competition.
Now that SBMM is here, we see the forced W/L criteria in play, the laggy connections, the rigged matchups to enforce said W/L criteria, and the further destruction of pvp.
I hope all of your shattered egos are happy about this. Im sure your smiles will quickly fade when you get stomped next match because you went above 50% W/L.

I won a bunch of matches today not sure they were over 50% but I did decent in most my matches. So thing is if Im bad it wont belong before they pop me back down with the other scrubs or we find out Im better vs better players and its all the crazy randomness that we got b4 that was messing up my skill level.

Yo wait this happened? When? How? Also it has been funny reading through posts, and now I know what SBMM means, makes a lot more sense
-
Go look at whats happening with Halo Infinite. The community is exposing SBMM. And all the devs can do is argue semantics. Its hilarious.

Omw already…

Изменено (Nebvla): 8/28/2022 12:18:21 PMCall me bad, whatever, it's more /fun/. Doubt U experience it, U just grind tf out of everything. And ur kDa probably comes from players who can't play very well. Not from players ur skill level. I'm sure witherhoard takes a lot of skill.
-
SBMM doesnt match you based off skill clown. This has been proven time and time again. And I use witherhoard for PvE. Even then, if you think it takes skill to use any gun in PvP you are a troglodyte smoothbrain. Destiny is a game about gear first, skill second.
-
Your first statement could be said about you….cbmm shields you from playing people your skill level. Getting curb stomped so the top 5% can have chill games is no fun.
-
Изменено (GIVE EM HELLBOY): 8/29/2022 5:46:44 PMCBMM does no shielding whatsoever, what are you on? CBMM wasnt perfect, but everyone got matched with everyone else equally. CBMM only prioritized better connections to aim for a smoother experience. Your statement there about getting stomped by top 5% players constantly is stupid, you arent running into top 5% often at all. Whats funny is SBMM gives you higher chances of running into top players, as the algorithm will need you to lose at some point to maintain a 50% W/L, so you get bad teammates and the enemy is the better players you dread.
-
Half the complaints from the top players I see about sbmm are constantly getting sweaty matching. In cbmm you are protected from that at the expense of a low skilled players enjoyment. It’s like you dont give two craps about a low skilled players enjoyment. I see a lot of whine and excuses to continue to be able to post 30-40 kill games while the other team is miserable.
-
In cbmm you are protected from that at the expense of a low skilled players enjoyment.
You aren't protected from anything under cbmm. Everyone plays each other. No filters. Unlike sbmm which gives a Kiddie pool to bad players and completely removes them from ever playing good ones

Изменено (GIVE EM HELLBOY): 8/28/2022 2:23:47 PM
Half the complaints from the top players I see about sbmm are constantly getting sweaty matching.
Im not a top player... I could care less if a match is sweaty... How about the algorithm gives me people of my skill on both teams and not just the enemy team? Thats the problem with SBMM, its a facade, its goals are completely different from what you want.
In cbmm you are protected from that at the expense of a low skilled players enjoyment.
In CBMM everyone is matched with everyone. That algorithm doesnt discriminate you outside of connection. Dont play PvP if you are afraid of getting stomped. There is always a bigger fish in PvP style games, its part of the experience. Modern SBMM wont shield you from that reality. I used to think the same way you do when I was a kid on Halo 3. Oh... well get to Halo 3 in a second...
It’s like you dont give two craps about a low skilled players enjoyment.
False. I do care about low skilled players, which is why Im advocating against this algorithm. SBMM doesnt benefit you as it isnt truly SBMM its "Forced Win/Loss Based Matchmaking". You wanna know the best way to do it? 1. Have comp be like CS GO with its ranking system. The ranking system is much better a gauging skill than a manipulative modern SBMM could ever do. Put exclusive emblems, armor, and ornaments in there too. This would get sweaty people to play comp alot. 2. For non comp playlists (minus Trials for obvious reasons), have Halo 3s system. You start out by being matched with everyone. After like 2 games, the system looks at you. Did you lose both games? Did you go negative? Fine, filter you down to people who have had the same experience as you. Have you been winning alot? Have you gotten 40 kills one game? Time for a challenge. Everyone will visit at least 2 of the 3 pools there. Its honestly a fantastic system, which is why people think SBMM didnt exist in Halo 3. But it technically would fall under SBMM. A mixed bag of matches sweaty and casual is the best way to do it. In conclusion, modern SBMM is a "no fun allowed" system. It goes against everything PvP is for. It benefits only the company that implemented it, as its been proven it retains players by making it harder to progress.
-
Hmm, or just never care about winning and losing and just have fun using what you want, cause let’s face it going against high skilled players you know they are never gonna take the broken stuff off without fearing being unable to play against the newer or less experienced players
-
Ah yes, just dont care about the things I listed. It totally doesnt ruin what PvP is about...
-
Cause all of it is easily avoided. Not playing like having the highest kd and not dying is absolutely critical is the best way to play It killed the reason to experiment cause the better players never gave you that chance and most likely you dropped it. The lag is mostly cause guess what every god dam game has it. Everything does, it’s never gonna go away no matter what happens, so best course of action, try not break a algorithm that makes it so you can get matches and have fun at the same time. Cause in reality, no one cares if you got a stupidly high kd.
-
SBMM is the opposite of fun though. It rigs matches to fit a W/L criteria. Not fun. The algorithm is anti player.

Изменено (Rainbine 9545): 8/28/2022 5:51:27 PMWell if no one cares about winning or losing as better players have always pointed out that you won’t always win, then why is winning so important? I mean that’s what people say right? Have fun, play the game and use what ever you want. Winning and losing don’t matter, enjoying yourself is the real reward, I used double primary in sbmm before and I enjoyed it cause I was always trying something new While everyone ran around with ace of spades or spare rations and mindbenders then felwinters when it came out
-
For Control? Winning isnt important, all the SBMM playlists currently arent important to win in. But Trials and Comp? The playlists where you need to win? Yeah, SBMM absolutely cannot bleed into those playlists. Its already in comp and look at how that playlist is doing. SBMM kills all incentive to win, and flatout makes winning impossible if it were implemented into Trials.
-
Then easy, separate the two sbmms, make it so one sbmm is directly the more competitive ones and one that is more to the casual ones, make them i to training grounds Winning is not important, being able to understand how a gun is gonna work is, then you can use that knowledge to win in the more harder game modes, find what you like and stop copying everyone else. That’s what I say
-
How about no SBMM? Instead we have a system akin to Halo 3, where you get a mix of matches and the game determines your skill on the fly. Instead of this disengenous system we have now that forces win rates.
-
Or, just not care about winning and just focus on the game and enjoy it, since sbmm makes it so you can at least have a team to depend on then having to make you focus on trying to play the hardest you can cause no one else on your team is doing anything
-
Youre wrong. Modern SBMM rigs your team to lose, and rigs the enemy to win. Go look at what True Vanguard is going through. Bad players leave the game because theyre going up against sweats and hes the only one remaining. Does that sound fun to you? Modern SBMM doesnt care about skill at all.
-
And no one does, proving that you skill does not mean you need to care Losing and winning means nothing so why care if the game rigs it to lose, it’s trying to keep you able to play.
-
Your argument makes no sense. Well just agree to disagree.
-
My argument is this, if we have to agree we won’t win every match, then why is the algorithm bad.
-
Because its about having fun. Rigged matches are the opposite of fun. Having a system doing the opposite of what is advertised isnt fun.
