I had an abscessed tooth that had to have a root canal. Unfortunately, novacaine couldn't get me numb. (Something to do with the infection canceling out the numbing properties.) I got to feel the dentist drill into and scrape away a live (albeit infected) nerve. Plus he cut a hole in my gums to drain the abscess. That was fun.

life
actually, when i was maybe, 7 or so, i was at my daycare after school and they had this little track that was on a hill, just four directions, it started with a little sidewalk to get onto it, and then you were supposed to turn left and go clockwise, which i did. but in the close right turn there was a small ledge that acted as a mini jump and everyone always did small wheelies on it. i was on a yellow 3 wheeled scooter, going too fast, and i did a half flip on the ledge and busted my lip along with my nose. hurt like a female dog
I have injured an IT band tendon in my left leg, it is a tendon, not a bone or something one can easily fix. In short My left knee hurts a lot, sometimes I limp, I can still walk and run, but there is this irritating pain in my knee constantly, its been 5 years since the incident occured while practicing martial arts.

Mine was on purpose I did chiropractic therapy adjustments that were supposed to help alleviate the constant pain of my lasting concussion. The adjustment in question was me lying on my back while two docs dug their hands into my neck and twisted it as far as they could forwards. Then they held it there for two minutes. I did this twice a week for a year. Two minutes of the most excruciating pain I’ve ever known. Genuinely the worst thing I’ve felt. They always handed me a barf bag on my way out the door, because quite often patients vomit or pass out from being in so much pain. It took a major toll on me mentally as well. If the therapy is working, the adjustments are supposed to get easier, and the concussion pain would improve. It never did. All that for nothing.

Breaking my arm hurt pretty badly. And there was the time I pulled a few muscles in my back and shoulders. Could barely move.

1. Be a happy kid walking on top of a wall. 2. Lose your balance and fall but manage to grab on with both arms. 3. Your body smashes into the side of the wall and impales your lower belly into protruding rebar. 4. As your arms get tired, you slowly start sliding down the wall. 5. The rebar starts cutting you open almost to your belly button. This happened when I was 8. The wall was about 14 feet high, so I couldn't push off. Worst. Pain. Ever.

1 ответKidney stone. Only time in my life I thought I was literally dying. I’ve broken bones, had various surgeries, multiple stitches. Hell.. I even put a chainsaw running full blast into my knee. Nothing. And I mean NOTHING came even remotely close to the level of pain that stone caused. Stay hydrated folks.

6 отв.Had a major mastoidectomy (look it up) at ~7 years old (one of four I would have before becoming a teenager). Was discharged from the hospital early with high dose antibiotics and opiates and a -blam!- of other medications. The operation and ensuing time in recovery was excruciating. More or less, they removed the ear and carved out a portion of my ear canal and mastoid. Felt like my head had been pummeled with a hammer. Once at home, I slept on the pull out couch in our living room. I woke up one night soaking wet and having to pee. I thought I’d pissed the bed, but when I went to get up, the pillow was stuck to my face and was rrrrripping at my ear. I started screaming in pain. In my drug induced sleep, I had accidentally pulled some stapes and reopened the incision around my ear and bled out in the pull out bed, with the pillow and sheets basically becoming scabbed to my head, neck and upper body. The feeling of the torn stitches, the staples moved from their holes, the audibly loud throbbing, knocking pain inside of my head. There my poor parents are, coming down to their bloody mess of a living room, their son screaming with a pillow basically glued to his head. Ended up back in the hospital a few days later with some sort of blood infection and nearly died. After recovering from that, part of the surgery had to be redone to fix the “cosmetic” damage I’d caused. To this day, there’s nothing that compares to the pain I endured over that approximately two week period.

Изменено (Foxlariat): 9/25/2021 11:35:58 PMwhen i was really young, i was in the hospital for some sort of illness, and the doctor gave me rocephin. well as it turns out, i am EXTREMELY allergic to rocephin. i remember my eyes burning like tiny sharp rocks were being thrown into them, and the rest of my face feeling as if it was on fire. i was screaming the whole time until the doctors came in and put me to sleep. now whenever i go to the doctor i make sure to tell them i’m badly allergic to rocephin, because if i was ever given that medicine again it would probably kill me. 0/10 would not recommend

2 отв.
I got to feel the dentist drill into and scrape away a live (albeit infected) nerve.
Oof. There’s been a couple instances where I’ve had a dentist drill a tooth before it was fully numb, but I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like to have them drill that deep without any kind of anesthetic.
