Don't take it from me, listen to yourself.
How much time have you sunk into the game?
What other games require your attention?
When was the last time you fed the baby?
All kidding aside, you ever found yourself at this juncture where you're feeling indifferent about the game? I bet that's happened each season. I get on roughly twice a week once on reset to see the next part of the story and another day perhaps to raid. Don't invest so much energy into the game. Let bungie invest in us.
Their service model won't change but how they want us to spend our time in the game can definitely be better. I've sunk my teeth into other games and am happier splitting my time up. All the guns are going to feel similar to our old guns. Kookier abilities will be introduced and we will be drip fed plot. I wish we were able to treat seasons like a Netflix series - wait til it's all done then binge on it. (It's not like they leave us in suspense week to week anyway).
Just wanted to write a more...neutral toned topic up for people to read rather than the usual one that sounds like a user having a psychotic breakdown.

1 ответTbh i'm mainly just logging in to do the weekly mission then hopping back off to play other games. I just wish the weekly challenges weren't so grindy so i could easily come back and do them all at the end of the season

1 ответIt’s also ok to take a break from the forums. If you find yourself getting into arguments frequently and using curse words in your posts, or calling other forum users rude names or slinging insults over differing opinions, it might be time to take a step back. It’s just a game, and these are just opinions. If you get mad at someone for using a felwinters or you use your K/D to try and invalidate someone else’s opinion, try to consider why you are getting heated, and if it’s necessary or even worth it.

13 отв.PSA Its okay to quit destiny

I’ve actually been slacking on CoD. I need to get on those new weapons and Dark Aether for them.

Ive developed a good balance, I try to polish off the seasons 100 levels relatively quickly (not too hard 3 weeks of casual play got it done) If you know how to maximise your exp. Then I focus on any drops Im after and usually by mid season I cool off and play other games, Ill return for the weekly story progression and monthly Iron banner but I have decent rolls on the gear I want so am happy just to use the game as filler atm. I had a long break from mid year 2 up until season of arrivals felt fresh when I came back and Its hanging in there for me with the way I play atm.

Ark with the friends rn is very fun.

5 отв.Изменено (JazzyPaladin477): 6/3/2021 5:34:47 PMI work 96 hours per week and have 14 kids and still hit level cap in week one on all 3 characters on both of my accounts, and maintain a 7.0 trials kd. I also got worlds first VOG, but solo. No excuse for being a casual, it’s not ok.

1 ответSounds like you have bigger issues that need to be dealt with.
-
No, it’s not okay. Got to keep the FOMO at bay.

3 отв.Last time I took a break I missed out on some of the best charged with light mods and I’m still waiting for them to be sold again. This FOMO is shit.

3 отв.Have any of you ever considered that perhaps it's not burnout, but misery? Lot of people talk about how much they love the game, yet their examples of "burnout" is actually just them being miserable. Destiny 2 is making you miserable. I know because it was making me miserable. Don't take a break from Destiny 2; dump it altogether, you'll be much happier.

I mean yo I agree and all but at the same time... Nobody enjoys the drip feeding of content because it's not us living a story. Literally it's us just chilling waiting until next week to be able to play more story. The problem is the whole game since the Destiny content Vault has been based around the Fear of Missing Out and it makes people get grind fatigue hella fast. In fact if you buy Season of the Chosen right now all you get access too is the story, battlegrounds, and the Presage mission.. That's 1 pinnacle drop, no seasonal bright dust, no seasonal ornaments, or seasonal exotic, or literally anything else relates to the battle pass. I don't think that's bungie respecting peoples dollar and if they found some middle ground to make seasons worth it in the long run I don't think people would be as upset with how it goes. Also can we just point out that you don't get silver in the battle pass? I bet more people would be inclined to play and grind if you could self sustain your battle pass through the acquisition of silver in the pass... Pay once and grind away.

1 ответshut the -blam!- up

7 отв.Bungie: Yeah. You could take a break. But if you do, you'll miss out on the important story cutscene and you won't be able to get the Seasonal Title.

1 ответIt's never ok to take a break. Even while sleeping, you should be in orbit, ready to go the moment you wake-up.

15 отв.I really don’t understand how ppl can have so many hours invested with nothing to show for it. Like people with over 1,000 hours in pvp with a .76 KD I said kd not kda on your emblem your overall kill death ratio. Blows my mind what the hell are you doing with 2000 hours invested and 3 Raid completions? 🤯 just some examples I’ve seen.
-
You don't understand... If I take a break. RNJesus breaks me.

1 ответDestiny is like a job lol. Tedious tasks all day long. They even made transmog a part of that. Everything the devs do with this game is with eververse in mind and the worst thing is this isn’t a f2p game. Didn’t the guy who’s name can’t be spoken on the forum say it’s time for the veterans to come home back to destiny? Come home to what lol. Apart from the talented artists and voice actors and story writers this game is a shite show

Изменено (Corrick II): 6/3/2021 8:15:26 PMIf you play hours at a time and feel worse afterward than you did when you started, take a break. For the longest time I would stop playing after many hours and just feel disappointment. That’s not good. That does nothing but wear down your attitude, not just toward the game but life in general. You may think it doesn’t but the chemical processes going on in your brain aren’t rational and can’t be controlled by your imaginary belief that nothing affects you. Because it does, and it’s happening whether you like it or not. Love your brain chemistry and it will be good to you.

2 отв.I’ve been playing a lot more No Mans Sky and Mech warrior 5. I kind of feel bad because I’m a Destiny Clan leader. But I game to have fun, not to feel like I’m a test subject or a hamster.

1 ответI took nearly a year off and I’ve just returned this season. Best thing I ever did. I just enjoy the game and do what I can in the time I allow ( maybe 1.5 hours on weekdays ).Not chasing every single thing has made it more enjoyable. I won’t have everything, and that’s ok. Destiny will not be my life ever again.

Took me a while to stop taking the game so seriously. After I realised that. I've been able to help others realise there's more to life than a video game that gives you 0 benefits aside from content creator. I tell everyone I know now, if you get mad/frustrated get off, go make some money, eat some confort food or even get laid. There's no need to invest time into a game that doesn't respect your time or how you want to play.. cough stasis. Seriously build yourself a life you will enjoy.
-
I've definitely done this. I've restarted the whole thing over since I got an Xbox Series X and started playing the game on Game Pass. I was a PS player prior. I play until I get tired of the same old stuff. I'm switching between about 3 games currently. When I get bored, or frustrated in one game, I'll switch over to one of the other games until the same happens there. It's a better situation for me because it keeps the stress level and boredom level down. People should always play until something isn't fun or is causing anger or stress... then step away and come back later. Rinse and repeat.
-
I mean, obviously. I'd go make a brain omelette with the contents of my own head if I played this game daily.

Disliked, no such thing as a break from Destiny, it’s a way of life
