nothing has to be feasible. What is your absolute dream game?

1 ответAn absolute power trip like Prototype but with a reasonable challenge (and I'm not talking the halo 2 sniper jackal kind of difficulty). You have a bunch of crazy a-- powers and the enemies are roughly the same level of threat as you so using said powers takes some skill.
I hope somebody tries to recreate the power trip like Prototype did without being a blatant clone. Damn I miss that franchise when looking back on those days.
7 отв.Изменено (Cultmeister): 2/7/2021 10:38:46 AMA Star Wars RPG, but with a truly open ended quest structure. Imagine role playing as a bounty hunter and getting a mission to assassinate a high ranking rebel leader, but instead of trying to get at him in his massive base like you usually have to, you can hack into the base’s computer systems and find out that he’s being called away on ‘urgent business’ in a few days. So you decide to wait until he leaves, then track him to some backwater planet where he‘a meeting a spy with some sensitive info. You assassinate the rebel leader and haul the spy back to the empire for a hefty bonus depending on what the spy knows. Or you can use stealth to kill him inside the base, posing as a rebel noob who ‘gets lost’ on his first day, or just run and gun / blow up the base with him in it, or chase him to a secondary location where there may be more noteworthy people for you to capture/kill. Or you decide to rebel yourself, waltz up to the leader and persuade him to go into hiding while you pretend he’s dead and collect the bounty, and from then on you can sell him and the rebels info you may have overheard on your travels among the empire elite (although you will now have to pass skill checks every time you lie to the empire about assassinating rebels, and you may get caught out in your lies if you don’t cover your tracks well enough even if you passed the skill check - the check is for the guy you’re talking to to believe you, but it doesn’t make them oblivious to the fact the guy you ‘killed’ was sighted a few hours afterwards in a bar somewhere) Basically it’s all of the best genre specific games slapped into one massive world. If you want to be stealthy it plays out like a Hitman game, if you want to be in charge of a squad it plays out like Ghost Recon, if you want to cause mayhem it plays out like Just Cause, if you want to be a trader it plays out like one of those resource focused online space MMOs, if you want to go to war it plays out like the OG Battlefronts.

Ai Dungeon but a century or two from now.

Definitely Resident evil biohazard. It feels like a exact horror game. When you think about it the environment is well set and the effects and sound are too.

6 отв.Heres a stream of nonsense off the top of my head: - Star Wars rpg - Dark Souls melee combat - Mass Effect gunplay - Also Mass Effect casting, but having all unlocked abilities available via a filter thingy rather than assigning a handful to a few buttons. -Obsidian writing for story and characters - Older Bethesda style open worlds to explore - Baldur's Gate 3 co-op
-
The perfect game for me would be Ori graphics and music, Hollow Knight gameplay, with Dark Souls level difficulty and lore. Either that, or an open world Star Wars bounty hunter game with dialogue options equivalent to New Vegas, and music by John Williams himself. There were plans for an open world Star Wars game announced, so here’s to hoping.

2 отв.A co-op open world with Ghost of Tsushima's melee combat, Horizon Zero Dawn's ranged combat, Dragon's Dogma's large enemy encounters and modern Assassin's Creed exploration. ... and base building a la Rust, because why not? But most importantly, options. Looooooots of options. Difficulty options, parry window options, enemy AI options, survival options, level scaling options, stealth options... because not everyone likes playing the same way.

Total War: Warhammer but NOT in a fantasy setting

Maybe something made by Monolith with character and world design made by Turtle Rock. Preferably using the "Nemesis System" It's actually quite possible since Warner Bro's did just make the new upcoming L4D like game with Turtle Rock.

4 отв.Изменено (Altmith): 2/7/2021 5:41:23 AMIt basically already exists. There’s a lot of things that make a good game. And while what I’m craving for in a play experience changes (whether I want an RPG, FPS, narrative walking simulator with sad music), I have to say the closest I’ve come to game perfection is Saints Row IV Every single element of the game is a blast from the prologue to the end and it’s the most fun I’ve had playing a game. I’m not sure if it’s my favorite game of all time, but as far as a game playing experience goes... perfection.

4 отв.Изменено (Cobravert): 2/7/2021 2:54:43 PMAn open world KotOR in the the time following the war against the Empire, with Battlefront II (old one) style wars, with Destiny style battle (weapon and force handling, not Destiny's attributes), with the story aspects written with the same essence as Halo 1-3, virtually limitless story progression, with crafting and construction abilities that allow your own twists to be added, but within the bounds of the Star Wars universe materials, all in the highest graphics rendering possible,.... on console. Edit: I see Cultmeister and I are kinda on the same mission.

Four things immediately came to my mind for the perfect video game:
1) The first three Metroid games remade with Super's design philosophy in mind, placed into a single coherent gaming experience, thus eliminating the need for exposition-dump intros, while retaining the visual and audio style of Super, and, most importantly, free from Sakamoto's interference.

2) Dark Souls but finished. Essentially the same game as Dark Souls: Remastered, it would also complete Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith (narratively the best part of the game, but gameplay-wise a heap of crap), fully develop the game's covenant system and fix the pvp's godawful backstab meta, while cleaning up the interconnectivity of the second half of the game, thus eliminating the need for a fast travel mechanic.

3) Dragon Quest Builders 3. Specifically, the vision of the game I have in my mind, where it brings back everything great about the first two but without either game's respective issues, while also further developing the monster-taming systems within each game and possibly implementing more traditional, optional, Dragon Quest magic.

4) Not a game per se, but the horror genre of games should be better than it is. While video games, on paper, are better suited to horror than other media, I find that most horror games have a severe lack of variety. Which is particularly irritating when you realise that horror in literature and film is by far the most varied and versatile genre of speculative fiction.
12 отв.Hm.. Aesthetically, the game would either be something simultaneously dark, but super cute, or whimsically spooky. Ideally, it would somehow create a fighting system as satisfying as 2D fighters, but in a 3D enviornment (which I’m not sure is possible). It would probably feature a semi-open hub, that gives way into several linear levels, which must be played in order. These levels would probably be something akin to a Zelda dungeon, but maybe with some Banjo-Kazooie-esque collectathon elements? There would be a mix of puzzle based bosses, as well as pure combat based ones, with most (if not all) of the big main bosses being puzzle based. After beating the game, there would be something of a Roguelike mode, where the hub map, dungeons, items, etc. are all randomized, offering replayability after the story, as well as still letting you have the handcrafted experience of the main game. And of course every single elenent would be customizable; what enemies/dungeons/bosses/items/etc. appear, and all that. It’d be really cool if this Roguelike mode also came with a level creator. Realistically, I would say keep this to just making dungeons, but if we’re going all in on the fantasy, then you could make a whole overworld, too. To go along with the Roguelike/level creator, there’d be some guest character DLC, allowing enemies, dungeon items, and even playable characters, from a lot of my favorite games to be added into the mix, along with a little crossover campaign for each. Tl;dr? Cute spooky Zelda clone, with fighting game-esque combat, collectathon elements & Roguelike mode. Add some guest character DLC and we’re set!

2 отв.Titanfall 2 with Titanfall 1 graphics. And an expanded multiplayer like Battlefield. 64 v 64, on a massive map, with AI and Titans. Would be amazing.
