Iron Banner.... What?!?
Long story short, I bought the season pass to give this another shot after Warmind. Needless to say I've been gone a while. Did some Iron Banner matches, enough to rank up.
I go to grab my engram, and...
[i]You must complete Cast In Iron first...[/i]
So basically, every match I completed today in IB was a waste of time, as far as actually getting rewards is concerned?
For the love of God people... I made a comment about getting a bow. It was just a small comment, I fully understand I would get one in the quest, and nobody can seem to get past it and can't seem to grasp that my main comment here was about rank ups being locked behind a quest.
Why have the ranks at all, then? This all seems to just limit player choice.

3 отв.It's been this way for months. I think it's fine. By doing the quest, you get more tokens you can spend when you are done. You got three months to finish the quest.

1 ответThe main thing I disliked about the ib quest was having to get fusion kills and smg kills. My play style just completely dissolved. Plus being about 40 light lower than max made it a real slog... I played almost 80 comp matches prior with a sniper and sidearm load out, and it physically hurt to leave that finesse behind for the sake of the quest.

U get s decent bow as a powerful reward when I actually need to get the bow kills.

I'm sure it has been answered already, but you get the weapon you will need as a drop each time you pass a step in the quest. After the first step you get crimils dagger and then need hand cannon kills in the second step Beat Second step you get breath of the dragon to get smg kills in third step Beat Third step get wizened rebuke to get fusion kills in fourth step Beat fourth step get masterworked point of the stag to get bow kills in the fifth step Done

That’s not the worse dude. Don’t step into trials if you think IB was bad, they literally made every wrong decision they could when they brought it back

You should've played in the Forsaken-Season Pass time, the game is currently a hollow moneymachine with a chinese F2P company having a minor investment in it for them to affect the game. You'll just be milked evey season so you can "keep up" with such revolutionary content as: -Bounty grinding PvE -Bounty grinding PvP -XP farming the season pass for 1k glimmer or other fluff

Bungie ruined the way bounties are done. You can’t earn emblems until you complete the bounty for the shaders. I won’t do another Zavala, Shaxx or any other bounty like that.

The IB and quest in particular are ridiculous for a number of reasons... they gate armor, the weapons are as stale as is digitally possible, and the accumulation of stats for weapons doesn’t work the same as game or zones. Oh and you need to do it 3 times for 3 characters, and I haven’t found the will to move beyond the second stage for any one character.

Изменено (Demon_XXVII): 3/30/2020 3:11:57 PMUp until this ‘Bow Quest’ - I had never fired a single Bow in Crucible, not a single arrow (on any of my 3, now 2 characters) If the quest hadn’t given me the [i][b]Stag[/b][/i] bow to finish the final step, I wouldn’t have found a single bow in my arsenal to complete the 10 kills (it didn’t go too bad 8/2 over two matches, then vaulted) The last time Bows were fun in PvE (Wishender) - Bungie wrecked it

I did the cast in iron quest just for the bow that turns out isn't even as good as my Subtle Calamity bow that I already use. Other than the pinnacle bounties I completed so I could infuse them into my better gear. I don't even bother with turning in coins for the uglier than sin IB guns and armor.

You were quite literally given the Iron Banner pinnacle bow for the bow kill step.

It's really not a bad quest. I did it for all three of my characters and was done by Friday. The game gives you a bow right before the bow step, so there's your bow. It's a good one too. I'm not even a bow user and I was done with this step in a few matches.

Bow kills was a struggle lol but the in loot we had for so long so I don't even care about the packages. I miss d1 when we got updated loot for ib and venders. Less content every year

Youll get the point of the stag for the bow part of that quest. Each section of the quest will reward you with what you need for the folllowing steps.
