An intelligent man described our age as a great “carbon release” and explained this in detail.
Basically, in a nutshell, we as humans have released more carbon into the atmosphere than has ever been released in as short a period as the last hundred and fifty years or so.
So now I realize what the fuss is all about, and I’m trying to remain optimistic, but this is obviously the collapse of the earth’s climate. Not as if the earth won’t go on, but that it will be a fundamental break in the existing stable climate.
Are we going to see the next biblical flood?
To my knowledge, nothing within our power can stop the ice at both poles, and even the Himalayas.
Should we be preparing for an inevitable “great flood”?
Anybody know how to build a big boat?

Let’s blame the polar bears

If all of this is true, which I was always told global warming was fake, then I’m pretty sure we still have plenty of time before the earth floods. Also if it gets to a bad enough point more action would be taken around the world. I think we’re good for now, but good luck to our descendants.

Изменено (RollTide2235): 7/29/2019 1:03:05 AMI’m fine with doing what we can to help improve our environment. My issue is when things like “carbon footprint taxes” are thrown into the mix. Politicians will absolutely do any and everything they can to line their pockets with as much money as they can and do their very best to make it seem like “a worthy cause”.

29 отв.If you’ve read the Bible (you obviously haven’t) God creates the rainbow as a sign that he will never Flood the earth again. Also, we might produce more carbon than ever before, but guess what? Those plankton in the ocean, and the trees are making more oxygen than ever before because of the increase of carbon dioxide

32 отв.China and India are the biggest contributors to global warming/pollution by far and solar/wind farms are gey -blam!- compared to nuclear expansion. If you can't admit these 2 things you really dont want to have a serious conversation about global warming

4 отв.China and India will continue to build coal power plants and produce CO2 until 2030 at which time they have to reduce their emissions per the Paris Climate agreement. Which is one of the many reasons the agreement is shit. China doesn't classify CO2 as a pollutant, and yet they are still part of the Paris Climate agreement. Which shows how bogus the agreement is. Meanwhile, here in the US, (where we've pulled out of the agreement) we are planning on shutting down the remaining 2 units at a local coal power plant and going to build a massive solar power plant to have the world's first and only solar powered steel mill. So, in a nut shell, without the agreement the US is still reducing emissions and with the agreement China and India are still producing more CO2. (But in China's case it's not a pollutant). Remember all the outrage when Trump left the Paris Climate agreement...?

1 ответThe flood is actualy not that big of a problem. The Northpole is all ice so if it melts the waterlevel will not rise. The amount of water an iceberg displaces is the same amount of water it will melt into. The Southpole is a bit different, but still it would melt a lot of ice on land making a bunch of lakes and inland seas. Not that it is not a big problem overall though, it is, but the floods are probably the least you need to worry about.

10 отв.One of the main contributors to global warming is humanity's obsession with eating meat. I'm not saying we all need to be vegetarians (although that would be great) but we do all need to drastically reduce our meat intake (including leather products). Another very easy change all people can make is to mow the lawn less (and outside peak flowering times) in order to increase bee populations. + ban synthetic chemical pesticides and grow more trees, but those are more longer term pursuits.

2 отв.Изменено (Uncanny_Vale): 7/26/2019 1:21:03 AMIt’s not looking good. Humanity is like a massive ship heading towards a rock. Like one of those massive tankers that takes a huge amount of effort and time to change course. Some people pretend the rocks not there. Some people lie about and try to convince everyone the rock isn’t there. Some people acknowledge the rock but feel too apathetic or powerless to change course. Everyone’s trying to argue about which direction we should be steering the ship. In reality by the time we all get on the same page about how to turn the ship around it will be too late. I think we need to be looking now at adapting to the changes rather than prevention. I don’t think the human race will be wiped out or anything. But I do think we’ll probably have massive upheavals and economic/climate collapse in the medium to long term.
Also you stole my avatar.
