This is just another nostalgia post about how d1 was just so much better. No it’s the exact same and you have nostalgia because you and your buddies had a good time in the old d1 raids. Now that people have been playing destiny for years a lot of older d1 people don’t play anymore so you don’t have those friends to raid with. I know I’m in the same boat. The thing is that the raids are the exact same difficulty. You just enjoyed the old ones more because of nostalgia. In no way shape or form is any of the new raids any harder than Kings fall or vog or hell even Croat ( sure you could one or two man it. That was because you could exploit it.) see the raids for what they are. Put nostalgia behind.
I remember back in d1 days these forums used to say the same things about d1 that they do about d2 now. It’s actually pretty funny.

Nope, d1 raids were far better. Leviathan was absolute hot garbo, eow and sos were crota wannabes but failed miserably with no enjoyable mechanics whatsoever, whatever the riven was is called is just overly complicated, especially that stupid vault and riven herself (why do you think everyone cheeses riven instead of doing the actual encounter?), sotp is the only decent one to me even though i dont like the mechanics of the boss, and i havent done cos yet but im hoping its nothing like usual d2 raids because, to me atleast, theyre hot garbage. But thats just me, these are opinions. If you like d2 raids, cool. If OP likes d1 raids, cool. Doesnt mean its nostalgia, it means d1 raids were the memorable ones because they were actually fun instead of ridiculously complex and stupid. 🤷♂️

Thank you for this. I've told people before that it isn't a bad thing to look back on D1 because you had fun. But don't let it ruin D2 for you. New people to meet and to play with, and new raids. We actually had some old buddies coming back to play it. I feel the reason why everyone says D1 was better, is because it was new. It was fresh. And we set the bar so high, because of what D1 had given us, that D2 fell flat. It was bad, at launch. We had a story, I suppose. It doesn't help either, that this Player base is just so divided. And not between PvP or PvE, but between dedicated/hard-core players and casual players. I can only imagine how hard it is to make content and try and make everyone happy. Sh1t's exhausting.

You said exactly how I feel. Of course some of that Is bungies fault but I feel sorry for them at the same time. They try and please everyone and I think it bites them in the butt sometimes. Dropping d2 so bad really hurt them and it’s taking them a long time to make it right. I think one thing they do get right though is raids. They have a knack for finding a good middle ground for hardcore players and casual players where mechanics aren’t to difficult, but difficult enough to be a true endgame. That’s why these posts are so stupid saying that the mechanics are to complicated.
