Duplicate Protection is not a real thing, stop lying.
I can understand 2 or even 3. Sure, it's RNG, it will happen, it's supposed to happen.
But since the seasonal reset i have received no less than 12 duplicate exotics.
I started clipping them to actually show you the sheer stupidity of some of these drops.
Not only is there supposed to be duplicate protection, but there's also supposed to be duplicate weapon protection so that if it is a duplicate, you're more likely to get armor than weapons. So me getting 2 exotic weapons in 1 drop is supposed to be the single most unlikely outcome and yet... weapons keep dropping, armor keeps dropping.
Then imagine getting an exotic drop while actively using it.
Either your algorithm doesn't work, or it literally doesn't even exist. Sort it out. This is a joke.
I didn't manage to clip all of them since the first few i didn't really pay much attention to.

I can relate. During previous season, before I stopped playing in May, my titan main got only 2 exotics, and both were dupes. And of all non-quest items he left with one - Stronghold. I wasn't playing too much on other two classes after I levelled them up and unlocked DC for both, but their first ever exotics were seasonal ones, like Stronghold, only for other classes, I won't remember names. Then again, couple of dupes only, so Xur was supplier of older stuff. During May, when my playtime was limited to getting Allegiance reward and buying stuff from Xur, that Cthulhu-wannabe sold me only dupes. Including a duplicate of an item I just got from planetary handler. I love bullpups, but I don't need five vigilant wings. This season, during my rather short playtime (enough to unlock access to manager-ie and 1 run through it) I got only 1 exotic and it was dupe again. Most annoying fact - this dupe was those "brotherhood" gauntlets nobody uses. Aeon or whatever. With worthless perks, which only adds insult to injury.

This is so screwed and some people are missing the bigger picture here. Let's say that a duplicate protection is in place like you say there should: I think you have already covered this thoroughly. It obviously isn't actually there or it isn't working correctly. Let's say that the duplicate protection you are talking about is just made up by you (like some people are claiming): Why should it he made up? Why isn't it in the game yet? [b][i]Why is it even possible [u]at all[/u] to end up with this many duplicates?[/i][/b]

I have had more aeon exotic gauntlets than I can count. It’s total bs. I just stopped trying for new gear and play with what I have. It’s more fun and you play less just looking for one item.

2 отв.A lot of these people don't understand the point you're making. 2 or 3 dupes are understandable, but when the devs put in a system that weighs new ones in your favor and it doesn't work after the 12th try there's something wrong.

7 отв.Duplicate protection increases the chance of a new exotic. It does not provide any guarantee. And when it comes to armor, it's always nice to get another piece of exotic armor with different rolls. I WANT another Crown of Tempest and Veritys Brow for some better rolls for my loadouts. Instead of over anticipating very specific exotic drops and getting disappointed every time you get an exotic you don't want, instead of whining say, "Hey, maybe I'll use this for a bit and just have fun killing aliens with my space magic!"

Wow, must be nice.. I got 4 exotics to drop in 2 weeks and 3 of them were from completing a milestone activity like flash point and blind well heroic

I think they forgot to add the new exotics to the algorithm. Forsaken exotics for sure got added to the dupe protection, but annual pass exotics I dont think they have.

The question is how many do you need? Because once you get down to one or two the odds are not in your favour. The weighting can help people who still need a lot of them, but duplicates are going to happen a lot when you only need one or two. That's just simple maths.

Oh it definitely isn’t there. They implemented dupe protection at the end of October in Forsaken, and it either broke or they removed it somewhere around the turn of 2019. I still haven’t gotten any exotics from SotD or SoO, and the first day I played I got two duplicate Ashen Wakes and a duplicate Mask of the Quiet One. Gg Bungie. Not like I want to knee things out of existence

1 ответYeah, the last 7 or so exotics I've gotten have been duplicates in spite of there being 1(now 2) that I don't have. "More likely to receive items you don't have" yeah, fool me once... There's nothing, absolutely NOTHING, that kills my desire to play the game more than getting a duplicate of an exotic I will never use.
