It's all gonna get sold for Bright Dust at some point. The plethora of Silver purchases are just for people who can't be patient. If they want to pay instead of wait, let them. It's their money.
Y1 vets will already most likely have many of the "best" items from the Engrams. That means tons of Dust for many players.
Cosmetics are weighed by their looks. Not everything will have beauty to the eye of the beholder. Majority, like myself, will do as they always do and just get what they like and dismantle the rest. Naturally, the only ones who don't like it are of course the collectors. And I feel for them.
Personally, having to be stuck with the Eververse is a pain. But they're practically throwing the items at us in this expansion. This is the most forgiving Eververse has ever been.
Majority will end up getting everything they want. Save that Dust!

They made it easy to pick what you want to spend silver or dust on. I think they want you to have enough options so you'll dig deep and buy. "And a fool and his money are soon parted"

While I don't doubt one second that allowing direct purchase is a psychological attempt to get more money, many Y1 Guardians simply don't need to at this point. Many should just be able to wait for their cosmetic to be available simply due to having played for almost 2 years. If a person wishes to spend money rather than wait, that's on them. Personal restraint is a matter of principal and discipline. I nor anyone else have no right to tell others how to spend their money. Being a cosmetic store, only a 100% collector will find it hard to get everything. They have like maybe 5 S7 items I truly like and that's no different than most others. If I have the spare dust, I'll buy other stuff. But at this point, longtime Guardians should have a decent size Dust purse.

Exactly. You'll get it in time if you play enough. People will do what they want. Still, putting that much effort into Tess's shop, and listing far more at one time than they ever have still smells like a money grab. The hopes that people see that one item they really want and having to go purchase just enough silver to buy it is what they are banking on. Personally, I see a few items I like cosmetically. I might buy something later if rng isn't nice to me. But like you said, patience.

They have like 10 items from S7 in the store available for Bright Dust. The other 6 are from past seasons. All current season items will show up at least once. They always do every season. I have yet to find something I want that didn't show up for purchase if RNG didn't bless me. It's as I said in my earlier post, the only people who are getting stiffed are the collectors. And it has been happening since the very first season. It's nothing new at this point. And as I said, I empathize with them. Many people, like myself, don't purchase things they don't find cool or interesting. The Mirror Mirror emote is a waste of 3K Dust. At least to me. Same as the Motherlode Sparrow. That's 6K Dust I know I'm going to spend elsewhere. Possibly in later seasons. I rarely buy ornaments, projections, or transmats so that's even more Dust I save. Also, I can live with or without the WWI inspired armor. Personally, I feel like this is what Eververse should have been like all along with Engrams awarding only past Seasonal items. Do I like Eververse? No. But this is the best way for it to work and I appreciate it.

May as well just drop bright dust and cut out the dismantling part.
